Chapter 80: Coco's perspective

Quick note: I'm sick of doing chapter recaps because I'm taking forever to upload at the moment, so this is just the last chapter in Coco's POV cause chapter 81 is coming out in a few days (after I finish writing it) and I want you all the have a refresher, also I just love Coco that's why it's in her POV 🩵

I don't like this, I wouldn't say I like any of this. I know I owe Joey for a lot of things, but sometimes the things he gets people to do are too much.

Hades is chained to a chair in the locker room, his face impassive. The stuff he was given is working.

"What the fuck did you give me?" He asks, calmly, as if asking what the weather is.

He keeps asking that question, and it's futile.

"You don't need to worry," Angelo says.

I don't like to say I have a single best friend because I don't want to make anyone feel left out, but honestly, Angelo is my best friend, we've been through a lot of stuff together.

I don't think I'd be here without him.

"It was something to calm you down." I offer, because even though Hades is calm on the outside, I know he would normally be freaking out.

I spin the beads on my bracelet.
I'm scared for him, I really am.

I said drugging him would be a bad idea, and I was ignored.

Hades and Nicks exchange some words but I'm not really paying attention.

"Is your vision okay?" I ask. "You're seeing things clearly?"

"What are you talking about?" Hades asks.

"She's worried you're gonna start hallucinating." Savvy offers.

"Hallucinating? No, I'm not."

Not yet he's not.

I don't know why everyone wasn't as concerned about this as me.

Joey comes in and I see a syringe in his hand and I leave. More things to give him, probably an energy booster, but I don't want to see any more of this train wreck.

I slip out a side door and not even Angelo notices me leave. I like Bree I do, and I want us to find her. Really, this entire thing is a mess.

I still don't know how Hades was with her and she still got snatched away. If I didn't know him or see the way he reacted when she was gone, I'd think the whole thing was suspicious.

Like the man is a security guard and he's scarily big. Like how did this happen? Maybe he just let his guard down at the very wrong moment.

I wait in the VIP box until it's time for Hades fight. Nicks is commentating, getting the crowd hyped.

"Madden vs Chambers!" He yells. "Who's gonna win? Who are you all betting on? When I say each of their names, cheer who you've got money on!"

Chambers is saying something to Hades. I'm trying to lip-read but I'm too far away.

"Alright, when the buzzer starts, so will the fight!" Nicks says.

The buzzer blares.

This is it, Hades is gonna fight, and get this over and done with except he doesn't. He drops to the ground.

Everything is loud in my ears. I knew something like this was gonna happen. Nicks is panicking on the microphone so Savvy takes over.

"Madden is on the ground, this is never been seen before, Chambers is advancing now, this win will be quick, but the question is, will Chambers want this fight to be over quick like a little pussy or will he drag Madden out to make it a good one?" Savvy says and she's smart, trying to get Chambers to draw this out so Hades has somewhat of a chance.

Chambers drags him up and punches his face. He shoves him and Hades lands on the ground.

He's actually going to die. I look at Joey and for once, he looks worried, concern flashing on his features.

"HADES GET UP! GET UP HE'S GOING TO KILL YOU MAN!" Nicks yells.

But he's passed out.

He's on the ground, muttering to himself.

Oh, so the hallucination is partially working.

I wonder who he thinks he's talking to.

I suppose it doesn't matter, at least he's not dead.

Now's a good time to mention I actually am in possession of powers and can use mind control on people.

Okay, no, I'm kidding, but now would be a good time to have powers.

Hades is out for maybe a minute or two and Chambers is gloating. I'm so glad he's arrogant, anyone else and Hades would have already been gone.

"Come on," I whisper. "Get up!"

"Joey, I'm really worried." I hear Lana say.

"He'll be okay," Joey says, but sounds uncertain, Joey is never uncertain.

"Hades get the fuck up," I mutter and maybe I do have some powers because his eyes open and suddenly, the fight is in his favor because I know he's snapped out of whatever just happened.

He's going to win.

And I feel it, I feel that Bree is still alive.

We're going to find her and everything is going to be fine.

These people are my family, I've always wanted a family after devastation stole mine away from me, and once we're all together again I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure we stay that way.
