Chapter 14 - Never Stop Looking

Days later, Becca is badly beaten and tortured by Sharon and her staff as they extract the serum from her body. She fights hard to get out every time but fails as Sharon anticipates her every move. Sofia is also severely beaten as she tries to fight back, but Sharon restricts the torturing to a minimum since Sofia is pregnant. So they only shock her, draw out her power source, and beat her except her pregnant belly. Sofia tries to get them to stop, but nothing works. She finds that Sharon tries to get her darker side out as she tries to fight back. But Sofia is more intelligent than Sharon and contains her anger. Knowing her priority is her babies. As Sofia waits for help, she cries as she knows she wants to see her son and husband more than anything. Furthermore, she does whatever it takes to protect her babies.

Meanwhile, the Avengers are doing everything they can to find the girls. Steve returns from the hospital and helps the team with everything he knows. Loki and Bucky feel helpless as they await a way to rescue their wives. Especially Bucky. He feels guilty for leaving his wife and worries about her and his babies.

One day, Becca is screaming and crying out for help. But nothing happens. Sofia is lying on the bed reading a magazine. Becca turns around and groans, "Ugh! We have to get out of here!"

"The chains won't come off," Sofia implied. "I've already tried."

Becca turns to Sofia. "I know, but I am not giving up! There's always a way."

At that moment, a woman comes in and gives them their meals. Sofia recognizes her as Kate Bishop's mom, Eleanor. She puts their meals down in front of them and says, "Here we are, ladies. I made this myself. I would make this for my daughter all the time. So I hope you'll enjoy it."

"You're Kate's mom," says Sofia. "Aren't you?"

Eleanor looks up at Sofia and is confused about how she knows about her daughter. "You know my daughter Kate?"

Sofia replies, raspy. "I met her at my baby shower."

Eleanor kneels to Sofia. "How is she?"

Sofia looks at Elanor with an honest look. "She is good. But she is worried about you and misses you very much."

Elanor looks at Sofia with a look of sadness. At that moment, a doctor comes in. He says, "Oh good. You gave them lunch."

"Yes," Eleanor replied as she stood back up. Sofia turns back to her magazine, and neither Becca nor Sofia says a word. "I thought I'd feed them before you run more experiments on them today."

"I'm not going to run more experiments. Yet. Because Sharon wants to test the first batch of the serum on a group."

"Serum?" Elanor looks at the doctor as he leaves, then turns to the two women as she realizes what Sharon's been planning. The girls look away from Elanor as they feel helpless and defeated.

At the Compound, everyone is either silent as they are upset about Sofia and Becca, or others are going through everything to find out where Walker is. Loki is watching the kids. Natasha helps Steve go to Loki to talk. "Have you found them?" Asks Loki.

"Not yet," Steve replied softly. Loki groans and looks away. Steve gently touches his shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I really am. I tried really hard to protect them."

"I know," Loki said softly as he turned his head and looked back at Steve. He sighs. "How are you?"

"I'm making it. How about Buck?"

Loki sighs as he knows he doesn't want to admit what he has seen. "He never leaves their room."

In their bedroom, Bucky sits in the bed, holding onto Sofia's stuff, and starts crying. "He just sits there and cries. Worries about his sister," Loki added. "Worries about Sofia and his babies.
