Chapter 17 - Something's Wrong

Steve turns to Sofia and asks her, "Do you think you can walk?"

Unsure, Sofia replied, "Maybe."

Steve places his hand by ear piece. Sofia squints slightly, exhausted. "Hey guys, can we get one of the ambulances to meet us here at the entrance?"

"Copy that," Rhodes replied on the coms. "Becca and Loki are en route to the hospital."

"Okay, copy that," says Steve. "Loki, how's Becca?"

In the ambulance, Loki sits on one side while the EMTs are looking at Becca. As they look at her, Becca is asleep. Loki replied, "She's okay. They're checking her out to make sure she's okay. Becca passed out again right when they were asking questions."

Sam replies, "Okay. Bucky and Sofia will meet y'all there. We will catch up once we get done with the arrests."

"Sounds good."

Back in the hallway, Bucky and Steve both wrap their arms around Sofia. Bucky says, "Okay, ready. One. Two. Three." They gently and carefully help her start walking.

As they take a few steps, Sofia feels intense pain. "AH!" She says as she hunches over and squints her eyes.

Bucky and Steve stop and turn to her. Concerned, Steve asks, "Sofia, you okay?"

"No, I can't - Ahh!!" She falls to her knees as the pain becomes excruciatingly worse.

Bucky and Steve kneel next to her. Bucky asks, "Doll? What's wrong?"

Sofia looks up at Bucky and groans, "Bucky...it's time."

Shocked and concerned. "What...you mean now?!"

"Yes!!"

"Are you sure?"

Sofia touches her thighs and feels something off. "Oh no. Oh, God!" Bucky stares at her as Sofia slowly removes her hand. They notice that there is slight blood in the discharge. She panics and begins to scream, afraid she will lose their babies. "No! No! No! Bucky! I - AHHH!!!"

Bucky leans towards her. "Sofia, Doll! It's going to be okay. We're going straight to the hospital!" As Bucky picks Sofia up, she groans as every movement hurts.

The team is split up into groups to do their jobs. Steve opens the door as Bucky is carrying Sofia out. Steve shouts, "Guys! Someone get the paramedics now!"

Natasha rushes towards them and asks, "Oh God, is she okay?"

Bucky replies, "Her water just broke. I have to get her to the hospital now."

Steve commands the team, "I need someone to get Sharon or anyone to talk and figure out what they've done to Becca and Sofia the last few weeks."

"On it," says Clint.

Sofia asks, "Someone call Pepper and tell her -" However, before she can finish her sentence, Sofia clutches as the pain intensifies even more.

"Let's get you in the ambulance first," says Bucky. Sofia groans as her Labor pain continues. Two EMTs rush toward them. As this is happening, the team is watching and is concerned for Bucky and Sofia. "Please, help us! My wife, her water just broke! I need to get Sofia to the hospital now!" Bucky gently places Sofia on the gurney.

The EMT says, "Okay. How far are the contractions?"

"I don't know," Sofia groaned.

"We saw blood on her hand," Bucky replied.

"Okay, let's get her inside and take a look!" The EMT replied. He turns to his partner. "Robby starts the truck as soon as we get in!"

"You got it, boss," Robby, the EMT, replied.
