Chapter 11 - New Life in Hiding

A few weeks go by, and the Avengers look for clues to the Power Broker's identity and only find their last whereabouts. So they send small teams to every market mission to find that the Power Broker uses an alias and that it is going underground. At that time, Becca and Sofia received no more calls but helped the team find answers.

During that time also, Bucky watches over Sofia as they prepare for their little ones into the world. When Sofia is resting, Bucky, Steve, Becca, Sam, Natasha, and Loki are designing the twin's room in their spare time. Bucky and the team watch over the children because they are unsure if the Powerbroker wants only Becca and Sofia or if they are after their children as well.

One day...Sofia comes out of the bathroom fully dressed. She is approximately sixteen weeks (four months) pregnant. Bucky approaches her, smiles, and says, "Hi, beautiful."

"Hi," said Sofia as she turned to face him.

Bucky kisses her. "How are you?"

"I'm okay. How about you?"

He smiles. "I'm good. Listen, there's something I wanna show you. But first, you have to close your eyes."

"What for?"

"It's a surprise."

"Okay."

Bucky takes Sofia's hand and escorts her down the hall. Steve, Loki, Becca, Natasha, Sam, and the kids watch as he does. Bucky opens the door and stands beside her.

Bucky whispers, "Okay. Open."

Sofia opens her eyes and sees the twin's room is ready. It is set with a bed, a changing station, a rocking chair, toys, blankets, and everything the babies need. Sofia sheds tears of joy and says, "Oh my gosh! What? When did you guys -"

"I figured since we might be here for a while, we should get the twin's stuff ready. So I had a little help. We just need the other bed. But it'll be here in a few days."

"All of which I have bought," Tony appeared from the stairs. "I knew you guys would need the help and they are after all my Godkids.

"Do you like it, momma wolf?" asks Little Steve.

Sofia kneels to her son and replies, "Of course. Did you help?"

"I'm the big helper."

"Yes, you are," Bucky comments.

"Thank you, guys," said Sofia. She hugs everyone and kisses Bucky and her son.

From the corner of his eye, Steve notices a car coming up and says, "Excuse me, I'll be right back." Steve leaves.

Loki notices something is off. So he watches as does Tony. "What is it?" he asks.

"I'm not sure," Loki replied. "But I've got a feeling that something is not right about Agent Carter."

"But didn't she help save your ass in New York two years ago?"

"Yes, but somethings off. I can't explain it. But...something tells me to not trust her." Loki turns and walks away.

"Friday, get me everything you can on Sharon Carter please. And I mean everything you can find. Even the top secret I can't see files."

"Yes, boss," Friday replied.

"And let this be between us until I can give Cap, Loki and Bucky the correct information, okay?" asked Tony. "I don't want this to be leaked or anything."

"Yes, boss."

Out in the front of the building, Steve heads towards Sharon, who is getting out of the car. "Sharon," he said. "It's good to see you."
