A few weeks later, Sofia can move around and recover from everything. Late one night, one of the twins starts crying. Bucky and Sofia wake up. Sofia removes the covers and whispers, "I got it."
Bucky, however, stops her and says, "No, I got it. You go back to sleep." He kisses her and then gets out of bed. Sofia watches Bucky leave the room with a smile on her face.
Baby James is crying and fussing; as soon as Bucky comes in and picks him up, he calms down. Bucky whispers to him, "Hey, little man. What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare, huh?" James makes a cooing sound. Bucky then gets an idea; he takes out his phone and starts to play his soft, calming, slow music off his playlist. A few minutes later, as Bucky is dancing slowly, Sofia comes in and smiles as she watches. Bucky turns his head and smiles. "He had a nightmare."
"Awe," she said softly.
At that moment, Natalia starts crying. Sofia smiles and picks her up. They then slowly dance together with their children and help get them back to sleep.
Once they're asleep, they put them back in the cribs. "Goodnight," whispered Bucky.
"Sweet dreams," Sofia whispered. They quietly leave and head back to their rooms.
A few months later, Becca and Bucky had their families return to their homes, and their lives returned to normal. During those months, Bucky and Sofia are exhausted and feel like they don't get to spend time with each other since they spend time with their children. So Steve and Natasha come up with a plan. At Steve's apartment, Steve is making breakfast for Natasha and coming up with a plan. He asks her, "So, you remember what to do?"
Natasha replies, "Yep. I'm going to get Sofia to come with me for girl time. And you will take Bucky out for guy time, and both of us will get them a weekend for themselves."
"Good."
"Even though they will struggle to be away from their children."
"Yes, but all parents do, and they need a break." Natasha gets a text from Sofia. And Steve gets one too. "Speaking of which."
"Yep." Steve goes around to kiss Natasha. "Well, good luck."
"You too." They kiss each other and leave.
Later that day, Sofia and Natasha look around in a clothing store. Sofia finds a cute outfit, shows Natasha, and says, "Awe, this is cute."
Natasha looks at it and replies, "Yeah. I think you would look cute in that. You should try that on."
"Okay." Sofia takes it and places it on her arm.
Natasha looks at an outfit briefly as Sofia continues to browse. "So, when was the last time you and Bucky had quality time together?"
Sofia looks at Natasha. "Oh geez. I don't know, maybe before the pups were born. Why?"
"Well, Steve and I were talking, and we think you two deserve a break."
Sofia raises her eyebrow at her. "Huh?"
"You know, a weekend or a day away."
Sofia is pleased with the idea but then remembers her children and feels uneasy. "Oh, I don't know. I mean, it's hard to think about being away from the kids. Especially the babies."
"I know, but you guys are tired, right!" Sofia hesitates but nods in agreement. "Okay, let me ask you this. How much sleep do you guys get?"
"Four, give or take," Sofia replied as she turned to Natasha. "We try to take a nap when we get the chance, but it's hard when we try to spend time with Little Wolf."
