Cod wouldn't stop laughing. It was driving [Name] insane. "Could you try and take this a bit more seriously, Cod?" Dolly demanded from across the table, his twin sister Molly slowly nodding her head. "I'm sorry..." He attempted to catch his breath, his head reared back to settle him. His gloved arms were crossed as he sat back up.
"It's just ever so slightly amusing to me that you're getting so worked up." He leaned over on the diner table, his head leaning on his hand. When [Name] saw him in this position, she thought of Julie doing the same thing earlier that day. She hated how much she was thinking about her.
"I will say, it's been a while since I've seen you with a crush." Molly tilted her head. Dolly nodded along with his twin. [Name] looked up, waving her hands abruptly. "What? No! It's not a crush, she's married." She protested. The whole time, Cod just looked more and more amused.
"You think that means anything? Why do you think affairs exist, babe?" Cod scoffed, raising his eyebrows to look sternly at her. [Name] dropped her shoulders, thinking it all over. "I don't like her. I'm not that kind of girl, fishy." She shook her head. She just found it exciting to have a new friend. She was lonely in her department.

It was dark when Julie got home. She opened the door to her and Walden's house, hearing commotion from upstairs. A friend of hers, Sally, was babysitting their daughter. The noise was most certainly the two.
Julie smiled briefly, taking off her boots. She dropped them by the door and walked up the staircase, walking down the long and winding hallway until she got to her daughter's bedroom door. It was slightly cracked open, just enough for Julie to open it the rest of the way.
She leaned against the doorframe as Sally and her daughter, Ophelia, played Mario Kart. So far, Sally was completely destroying the seven-year-old. "A bit of mercy on the child wouldn't kill you." Julie frightened both of them with her sudden appearance.
Ophelia turned around, purple hair shifting around her face in its short bob. The little girl jumped up and ran to her mother, opalescent horns pressing against her waist.
Julie squeezed her daughter in a tight embrace. "Mercy isn't my style." Sally stood up, fixing her blonde updo from its messiness. She spoke with confidence. Ophelia turned around, sticking her tongue out.
Sally stuck out her tongue right back, picking up her bag as she prepared to leave. "How much do I owe you for keeping you so late, Starlet?" Julie turned her gaze to her purse, fishing for her wallet. Sally waved her hand in dismissal.
"Don't worry about that. It's worth it just to beat the kid at everything." Sally ruffled Ophelia's hair. Ophelia, despite being agitated at her teasing, enjoyed Sally nonetheless. With that, she left the house with a final wave as she walked out to her truck.
Julie hoisted Ophelia up onto her shoulders, not struggling as much as she thought she would. And even though it didn't seem all that bad, it didn't mean Julie was in such high spirits. 'I must still be pissed at Wally.' She thought to herself as she walked downstairs with Ophelia on her shoulders.
"How was your day, Ophe?" Julie sat the child down on the counter as she reached into the refrigerator. "Is Dad coming home?" She didn't even bother building up the conversation before cutting to the chase. Julie's mouth formed a straight line as she grabbed leftovers from the previous night.
