My morning was exceptionally unusual.
I had gotten up pretty early and was practically finding things to pass time with since there was nothing to do. Not this early in the morning anyway.
So I ended up sitting at the island counter.
I was literally staring at the hot cup of tea sitting in front of me, watching the steam rise out of it in different swirling patterns.
That's how free I was. There was absolutely nothing to do.*ring*
"This stupid ringtone." I scowled as I picked up my phone but smiled when I found out who the caller was.
"Hey turtle!" That wiped the smile off of my face. Fucking nickname. Ugh.
"Good morning to you too Ally." I rolled my eyes.
"I really wanna ask you how you're doing but I'm in a hurry and I need your help!" She sounded genuinely panicked but I sensed some excitement too.
"Sure. Tell me. What's up?" Slowly, I took a sip of my tea which seemed to have cooled a little.
"Elijah is taking me out." She whispered.
I choked on my tea.
"What?" I asked incredulously, almost going into a coughing fit.
"Wait. That came out wrong. Its not a date. We're supposed to meet a client-"
"Its a Sunday!" I chastised.
"Tell him to go annoy his fake fiancé. Seriously Ally, stay away from him. He's an engaged man. It isn't good for either of your reputations. And with his fiance being a super famous model, I'm sure paps must be after him all the frickin time." I ranted. "By the way, didn't he have anything better to do than work? I didn't peg him for a workaholic."
"I thought you wanted to see us together..." She trailed off.
"Yes. I still do. But not like this, when he's a betrothed man but he's still taking you out. Not on my watch. Man's gotta have honor."
"Its not exactly a work thing. Besides, we're going to a party to be precise. And," She sighed before continuing, "please don't tell anyone okay? Elena ditched him. They were supposed to go out but she said she had some very important appointments to get to and told him to enjoy the day. How selfish!"
"Woah what a ßitch! You can trust me Alice. And seriously? A party? Wow. Which party? Why are you going to a party if this is a work thing?" I finished drinking my tea and went to put the cup away in the sink.
"We're meeting Nico Grassi." She announced.
"Holy shit. " I dropped the cup but luckily I had reached sink. I cringed as it landed with a clang.
"Its a little early for me to hear profanities Violet."
"You're meeting Nicolas Grassi! He's one of my favorites! That has got to get a reaction from me. That man... He's a god!"
