'You found me'Was he an idiot? What the hell did he mean by 'you found me'?
It irritated me and made me want to scream at him.
'Did you get my message?' I sent instead and, with utmost difficulty, waited patiently for a reply.
Then I scoffed at my stupidity.
Of course he got the message, my subconscious snorted. Why else would he reply?'
Though it was vexing, it was right.
*ping*
'Yes. I saw the letter. I'm fine. Tell Elijah to pin point Gulhani's exact location.'
I sighed. Calum was so typical. But at least he was fine. I closed my eyes in relief before sending another email.
'Yes Sir. But when will you be back?' We were exchanging emails which contained little text. Freaking boss should just switch his phone on so I could call and sneer at him.
I didn't receive an answer for that email. Funny. Did his phone die?
While I waited for his email, I called Alice. I didn't have Elijah's number and who better to ask for it than dear Alice?
"Hello turtle! I was just thinking about you!" She chirped.
"Oh! You were? Why?"
"The thing we talked about, earlier?" She whispered.
"Uh huh? Elijah and you?"
"Yes. That. Thank you for that."
"Psh. No worries. I'll find some dirt on Elena. Is Elijah nearby?"
"Yes. He's in his office. Why?"
"I need to talk to him. Well, you could do it for me anyway."
"Sure. What's up?"
I told her about how I had found a way to communicate with Calum and about Calum's orders for Elijah.
"Sure. I'll let him know right away turtle, don't you worry."
"Thanks Allie. Bye."
"Bye."
Suddenly, the car swerved before coming to a stop.
"Woah Mr J. What was that?" I put a protective hand on the package Calum had told me to collect. The package was just a neat stack of papers with some data on it. It didn't pique my interest so I didn't dwell much on it. I had gotten it from Gloria, the busty bimbo of a receptionist, who had sneered at me yet again.
Cheers to new friendships huh?
"Sorry, love. A stray cat jumped in front of the car." He said.
"Okay. But why aren't we moving?"
"That's because we are at our destination." He tapped the GPS screen for emphasis.
I got out of the car and took a look around.
We were definitely in some fancy neighborhood. The apartments had red brick walls that were in pristine condition. Even the dumps in the alleyways looked clean.
Weird.
"Are you sure?" I was doubtful.
"I have faith in Lauren." He said confidently.
