"Violet,"

Please don't wake me up. I barely got any sleep.

"Violet," A familiar voice cooed.

I struggled to get my eyes to open but I was thankful because the sight that awaited me was beautiful. Calum was sitting beside me. He was fully dressed in a suit vest and pants and looked about ready to leave for work.

"Good morning." He said as he caressed my cheek.

"Hmm...what time is it?" I mumbled before yawning and rubbing my sleep filled eyes.

"Its 7 in the morning." He said and smiled at me. "You're beautiful." He said and pecked my cheek.

I blushed.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"I've been called in. Hans Gulhani wants to wreak havoc. There's a meeting scheduled for 8 am. I have to be there."

"Why do I not know about this?" I sat up in bed.

"Don't worry. It's an emergency meeting request by Gulhani. Let's see what he wants." He was looking at the clock on the nightstand but his thoughts were miles away. I got my guard up. Wherever Hans Gulhani was concerned I had to tread carefully.

"Let me get ready." I said and started to get up when Calum interrupted me.

"Hey hey. No need to. I'll give you a call if I require your assistance. Till then, sleep in. You surely look like you need it." He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. I leaned into his touch, loving the feeling.

"I love it when you smile like that." He whispered.

"Smile like what?"

"Like...like I make you happy." He said and looked away.

"Calum." I held his face in my hands. He leaned into my touch. "You make me happy." I said with sincerity, "Except when you behave like an A class bitch." I said and laughed at his reaction.

"Too early for profanities Ms Morgan." He shook his head, rolled his eyes at me and got up.

"I'll see you later." He said and checked his cuff buttons. "Sleep in."

"You sure about this? You'll handle Gulhani? Are you completely sure you don't want me to tag along?"

"Yes. I'm sure. Now go back to sleep." He turned to leave.

"At least kiss me goodbye Mr Hood." I said as I fluffed the pillows.

"You just called me a bitch. I mean, I expected you to at least use the correct gender. So, forget your goodbye kiss." He said as he picked up and slipped on his coat jacket.

"Bitch." I muttered under my breath and laid back down, facing away from him.

"Heard that." He said.

"You were meant to." I closed my eyes, preparing to go back to sleep. I could hear his chuckles fading away as slumber slowly strengthened its hold on me.

I faintly heard someone sighing before-

"Rest up babe." I heard Calum's voice and felt the gentle brush of his lips against my temple.

I was pretty sure I was smiling as I fell asleep.

But that smile was short lived because something bad had happened.
