I was nervous. Let me list out the facts why:
The last time I came to Calum's apartment I was alone.
Calum wasn't there with me.
It wasn't night time then.
Calum hadn't kissed me before I went there
and my hormones were most definitely under control and not raging in my blood, fucking up my thoughts. On the other hand, it was such a weird sight to see Calum sitting in the driver's seat and actually, casually driving.
I had never seen him like that before.
He wasn't wearing his suit jacket, his sleeves were half folded upto his elbows and I had to admit I loved the sight of Calum flexing his arms as he steered the wheel.
"So," Calum said.
We had been sitting in comfortable silence for the past twenty minutes. It felt... nice.
"So?" I prompted.
"Nothing." He looked straight ahead but by the creases that had appeared between his dark brows I could tell he wanted to say something. But if he didn't want to talk about it, I wouldn't press it.
"When will we reach?" I asked instead.
"Ten more minutes."
Silence prevailed once more; an awkward, tense silence.
"What's up?" I asked him as he parked the car.
"Nothing. I'm just really tired. We should sleep." He called out from the other side as he slammed the car door shut.
"C'mon, tell me. What's got your boxers in a twist?" I crossed my arms simultaneously rubbing them as the chilly October air rustled the trees around us.
"Nothing can get my boxers in a twist." He gave me an amused look but didn't speak anymore as we walked into the building. He didn't hold my hand either which hurt a little but I didn't voice my thoughts.
"Calum," He didn't look at me but I continued anyway, "Look, I don't know what it is but I believe you'll tell me when you feel its the right time." I told him as I reached for his hand.
Yes. I liked how snug and warm his hand felt against mine. Actually, no. I absolutely loved it.
"You shouldn't trust me so much." He looked at our entwined hands and gave a tentative smile before tightening his hold and leading me into the elevator.
My heart fluttered at the gesture.
'School girl much?' My subconscious mocked.
'Go away.' I gave it a mental scowl.
"Pluto scares me." I blurted when we entered his apartment. It was dark and the steel covered apartment looked eerie.
There it was. His amused stare. Directed at me. Again.
"Speaking of which, where is he?" Calum let go of me as he flicked on the lights and the his apartment flooded with light.
It felt so good to be here, especially now when the very owner of the apartment was standing right in front of me.
