The villa was ginormous. Gigantic. It was so intimidating.

The first thing you noticed when you entered the villa was this huge-ass, attention grabbing, vintage crystal chandelier which cast a soft golden glow across the area.

I think the chandelier was the only thing that I liked.

The decor was good, it really was but man, it was pink and silver and personally, I disliked both the colors. However, the place looked dazzling- literall- with glittering chains of pearls hanging along the walls. The furniture looked positively chic and the class of the cutlery was unmatched.

The chairs were draped in white satin covers and the back of each one of them was tied with a shimmery pink bow while their counterparts, the tables, had baby pink covers. In the centre of every table sat a candle, elegantly poised on an ornate candle holder and red roses surrounded the setup.

Even thought the color scheme wasn't preferred by me, I was left starstruck with the beauty and grandeur of the villa and its decor.

The attention grabbing element would be the orchestra that sat at the side of the room, playing different tunes to which couples waltzed away happily, under the grandeur of the chandelier.

This wasn't a simple gala. This was some freaking royal celebration.

But the whole thing gave a positive vibe all in all. It made one think of pleasant things.

The room scented of hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls and I desperately hoped that the latter would be served in dessert.

By the end of the party, I was exhausted and ready to lay down on my bed and get some sleep.

I had talked to so many people I couldn't even recall their names. Everyone was dressed so exquisitely- the men in their sharp tailored suits and women in eye-catching, deep colored gowns and dresses. All of the gentry seemed to be aristocratic and I felt weirdly out of place. Add to it the fact that I was the only girl wearing black.

And boy was it a tiresome task! Talking to a large bunch of strangers. Hats off to Helen and every other host and hostess alike to arrange a party like this.

Oh yes. The host! The lovely lady in white. She had introduced herself as Helen and had welcomed me with such warmth, it didn't feel like I was meeting her for the first time.

Helen instantly took a liking to me and I think the feeling was mutual. It didn't faze her at all that Calum hadn't shown up himself but had sent me, his secretary, in his place. She said she didn't mind and understood that he was a busy man.

Props to Helen.

She loved dancing but she couldn't dance herself because she was old and had an irritating case of arthritis, so she made me dance. A lot.
