•••"The gym was buzzing with energy as the Karasuno Boys' Volleyball Team wrapped up another intense practice session. Just then, Aeris walked in, holding a bag filled with protein juice bottles.
"E: Hallo, guys! The protein juice is here," Aeris announced, her voice cheerful.
Tanaka, Hinata, Nishinoya, and Tobio ran towards her, excitement lighting up their faces. "Yay!" they chorused.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Calm down, wild clouds," Aeris chuckled. Aeris describe these four guys as wild clouds since they're like wild animals with cloud heads.
Ennoshita looked at her with admiration. "Your uncle must be really popular because you always have these drinks."
Aeris smiled, hiding the fact that she bought them with her own money. Her uncle was indeed an ambassador for the drink, but it was a convenient cover story she used. Only Tobio knew the truth.
She handed out the protein juices one by one. "Thanks, Nanachan," Kei said, accepting his bottle.
"Welcome," Aeris replied, smiling warmly.
After distributing the drinks, she laid down on the floor, stretching her tired limbs. "Arghhh, I am so tireddddd," she groaned.
"Dance club?" Kinnoshita asked, noticing her fatigue.
"Yeah," Aeris confirmed. Balancing the volleyball team and the dance club was challenging, but she loved every moment of it.
As the team settled down after their practice, Suga approached Aeris with a thoughtful expression. "Why the struggle, Aeris? Why not just join one club?"
Aeris pondered for a moment before responding. "Hmm, the dance club is better. Not only can you get scouted, but you also get money," she said, causing several heads to turn in surprise.
"Money?" Coach Ukai echoed, clearly intrigued.
Hinata's eyes widened with interest. "Money? Let me try if I can dance!" He immediately started a freestyle dance, eliciting laughter from everyone.
Kei smirked. "I think you should stick to volleyball, Hinata."
"Yeah, you're talented at that. You'll be richer than me," Aeris added, laughing along with the others.
"Pfft, move, Shoyo. I'll show you how it's done," Nishinoya said, stepping forward.
"Yeah, let's show them," Tanaka chimed in, joining his friend.
The impromptu dance session took the Karasuno volleyball team by surprise. As Nishinoya and Tanaka showcased their surprisingly good dance moves, the gym fell silent, everyone watching in awe.
"That's insane," Aeris exclaimed, her hand covering her mouth in amazement.
Coach Ukai couldn't hide his surprise either. "Since when did you two dance?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Nishinoya and Tanaka exchanged a knowing look before answering. "You know, here and there," Tanaka replied, his tone more boastful than usual.
Aeris, appreciating their skills, chimed in with a playful comment. "You guys killed it! You should just join us," she said with a grin, adding humor to the moment.
The brief dance break was a fun and refreshing pause from their usual volleyball practice. However, the competitive spirit in them couldn't stay dormant for long. With the laughter and dancing out of their systems, the Karasuno team got back to the grind, resuming their practice and drills, ready to conquer the challenges of the volleyball court once again.
During the practice, Kiyoko and Aeris sat together on the bench, watching the team.
Aeris glanced at Kiyoko with a curious expression."Still looking for a new manager?"
Kiyoko nodded, her eyes scanning the players. "Yes, it's hard to find someone responsible."
"I'll help you look around," Aeris offered.
Kiyoko smiled, grateful for the support. "Thanks, Aeris."
Aeris leaned forward, a determined look in her eyes. "What exactly are you looking for in a manager?"
Kiyoko's face lit up with gratitude. "I'm looking for someone responsible, preferably a first-year. I've checked the Hinata-kun building side, but so far, there's no one interested."
Aeris sighed, the reality of the seniors leaving hitting her. "So, this is real. You all are gonna leave us soon."
Kiyoko nodded. "Time flies for both of us."
Aeris chuckled, though there was a hint of sadness in her voice. "Yeah, yours is moving forward while mine feels like it's on repeat."
After their practice session, Takeda-sensei and Coach Ukai gathered the Karasuno Boys' Volleyball Team for a meeting.
"Alright, everyone, let's talk about our future activities," Takeda-sensei began. "First, we have a practice match scheduled with Hinoyama High School team in our prefecture two weeks from now."
The players exchanged excited glances, eager for the upcoming match.
"Next," Takeda-sensei added, "we have the Tokyo trip. It's going to be a bit challenging since we're lacking in budget, but we'll find a way."
Takeda-sensei's voice turned serious.
"Unfortunately, we have a major problem," Takeda-sensei said, his gaze sternly fixed on Tanaka, Hinata, Nishinoya, and Kageyama, who instinctively avoided eye contact.
Curiosity piqued, Coach Ukai pressed, "Why are you guys avoiding eye contact? What's going on?"
Takeda-sensei took a deep breath before delivering the news. "Next week, we have a final exam. If any of you fail, you'll have to take a makeup class. It's a requirement to participate in the tournament. And if you fail the makeup class, you won't be able to join the tournament."
Tanaka, Hinata, Nishinoya, and Kageyama gulped audibly, realizing the significance of their upcoming exam. The weight of the situation sank in, and they couldn't help but wonder if they would be able to balance their academics and volleyball aspirations effectively.
