Light Unbridled- Chapter 27: Blood On The Tracks

*"The fates of those none the wiser are set in stone, as the universe commands. He who attempts to go against his fate will be met with retribution, and he who follows it shall prosper. Curious. I wonder which path you will choose, o errant heart.”*

*The Scene opens with everyone excluding Ryan, Ozzy, and Riley in Zack’s hospital room. It has been a day since Bryce, Hayden, and Andrew first visited Zack.*

Hayden: So, Andrew, have you harassed any nurses yet today?

Andrew: Well, who says it's harassing them? I'm just hitting on them. There’s a difference, you know.

Hayden: Pretty sure it’s harassment if they’ve already asked you to stop.

Andrew: They know they like it. They just don't wanna admit it.

Bryce: Try telling that in court.

Andrew: Yeah yeah, whatever, ese. So, does anyone know whether or not Riley’s coming back?

Isaiah: Doesn’t really have a reason to come back. His injuries are healed, aren’t they?

Andrew: That's not what I mean. I'm saying, is he gonna come back at all? Without him, we're a lot weaker.

Isaiah: You’re right about that. Riley has the strongest stand out of all of us by far.

Hayden: You’re only looking at physical strength. Just because Riley's stand is the strongest physically, doesn't mean it’s the most dangerous.

Bryce: You're one to talk, Mr. QnA. What are you gonna do to people, question people to death?

Isaiah: I guess it’s not impossible.

Hayden: Seriously though, all of our stands are powerful in their own way. Bryce, you can literally blind people. How can someone win a fight if they can't see?

Andrew: Clearly, you’ve never played Mortal Kombat.

Hayden: What?

Andrew: Kenshi. A character from Mortal Kombat X. He's blind and he's a great fighter.

Hayden: Sure, thanks Andrew, but I’m talking about real fights. Why do you think the army and S.W.A.T. use flashbangs?

*The group is interrupted by a knock on the door, accompanied by the wooden door suddenly turning to stone. The door opens, and Ozzy is standing there, Duality summoned in front of him. The door turns back to wood once it’s open.*

Ozzy: Y'all miss me?

Zack: Ozzy!

*The group all turn and look at Zack, surprised he was able to speak. Zack then reaches towards his throat with a pained expression, realizing he should have contained his excitement.*

Ozzy: Jesus, it feels good to be out of that madhouse. What are y'all talking about?

Hayden: Not much. Just having an intellectual discussion about our stands.

Ozzy: Right, right. Where are Riley and Ryan?

Bryce: Riley left, Ryan’s in his room. Said something about wanting to be left alone-

Ozzy: Hold on, go back. Riley left? What do you mean by that?

Bryce: It means he left. Zack healed him and then he went back to his parents house or something. He wanted out. Didn’t even say goodbye.

Ozzy: Well, is he coming back?

Andrew: We don’t really know.

Ozzy: I guess it wouldn't make sense for a perfectly healthy person to come back to a hospital.
