*“The future often holds great terrors, o errant heart. It cannot be escaped, however. The fates of all these people are sealed. The bloodshed here today will be a symbol, a message, a show of strength. There is no light at the end of the tunnel for anyone here. Only stained, brutal calamity.”*
*The scene opens in the hospital’s parking lot, which is filled with cars, including a small black one. Suddenly, the left side door opens and out steps a man dressed in a pair of black leather boots, and a long crimson overcoat covered with floral patterns. He is wearing black pants, a black dress shirt with a pink collar, and black leather gloves. He has messy black hair, and his eyes are gray, appearing lifeless, covered by pink tinted aviator glasses. He speaks very enthusiastically, but also quite eloquently.*
???: Ah, what a beautiful day! What a time to be alive! Hey, Jodi, you comin?
*On the other side of the car, the door opens, and out steps a woman wearing a long black cloak, with a hood that covers the top half of her face. She has light skin and wears purple lipstick. She speaks softly and calmly.*
Jodi: How will you expect to follow your orders if you continue standing around talking about how beautiful the day is?
???: Aw, c’mon, Jodes, loosen up a little. This is exciting! An actual assignment! First one in a while, too!
Jodi: Just remember what we’re supposed to be doing here, Jonte. It’s not supposed to be fun.
Jonte: Of course, of course. Hey, driver guy.
*Jonte turns to address the driver of the car.*
Jonte: You can go ahead and leave. Me and my sis have got this covered.
Jodi: You’re sure that’s a good idea?
Jonte: You tell me. You’re the one with “future sight” or whatever.
Jodi: *sigh* Alright.
Driver: Good luck, Mr. Geil.
*The driver puts the car in reverse to leave, but Jonte suddenly yells.*
Jonte: Oh! I almost forgot!
*Jodi sighs in disappointment, and Jonte opens the passenger door again and grabs a very ornate looking axe. The metal blade of the axe is covered in blood red inlays, and the dark wooden handle of the axe has an engraving that reads “Memento Mori”. Jonte brandishes the axe proudly.*
Jonte: Almost forgot this bad boy.
Jodi: You’re obsessed with that axe.
Jonte: Am not!
Jodi: How much did you spend on it again?
Jonte: Oh, be quiet. It was worth it.
*Jonte rests the axe on his shoulder. The driver of the black car proceeds to pull out of the parking lot, leaving the two.*
Jonte: *sigh* I can tell this is gonna go well for us, Jodi. Well? Is it gonna go well for us?
Jodi: Just because I’m a fortune teller doesn’t mean I know everything that’s gonna happen.
Jonte: Uh, I thought that was the whole point?
Jodi: You don’t know anything. Besides, whenever I tell you things are gonna go well, you get really giddy and annoying.
Jonte: Whatever, you’re such a buzz kill. I thought you became a fortune teller to help me with my work.
Jodi: You keep telling yourself that, but it’s not true at all. I became a fortune teller to keep us both safe from you doing something reckless.
