My Luv - RINI, Bibi Bourelly
Mason -
I wake up too early for my liking,
4:30 to be exact.
But i'd rather be awake than dream about Annie.
After getting showered and ready, I quietly leave my room, walking down the steps and pausing at the bottom.
Sofia's sitting at the island, a pink mug of I assume coffee in front of her, a pair of large black glasses perched on her nose with a notebook and her computer in front of her.
"You're up early,"
She jumps in surprise, looking up at me and smiling briefly.
"Last minute studying," She motions to her computer and notebook. "I feel unprepared."
"What's the test on?" I ask, walking to the island and leaning my forearms on it, reading her screen.
"Hypothesis' on the natural origin of life on earth." She responds, showing her notebook that's covered in pink notes. "We're supposed to pick our top theee that we believe in, and provide supporting evidence for each."
"Sounds like a lot of work." I reply boredly. "When is this test happening?"
"Second period." She answers, rubbing her eyes under her glasses and setting her pen down. "Why're you up so early?"
"Busy day." I respond vaguely. "Show me how to make one of those." I motion to her pink mug, and she smiles widely.
"It'd be my pleasure."

Sofia lets me drop her at school, and I cherished the last few peaceful moments of my morning before driving to a warehouse.
It's far out from the city, the perfect spot to do plenty of illegal things.
Which is exactly what we do here.
"Anything new?" Chris asks Marcos as five of us gather around the table, examining the files again.
"Nope," Marcos sighs, staring down at our intel. "Same five guys. Same twelve girls." He shakes his head. "Even Scotty couldn't find anything new. They're good at this."
"They're fucking disgusting, is what they are." Brody sneers. "Why don't we make a move? We know where they are."
All eyes turn to me, and I look up.
"We know where they are, but we don't know what they have. Or what they're planning." I respond. "It's obvious these guys are pros. Yes, we're aware of who they have and what they do. But who's to say how many other people are in that house? Guards, family members?" I name off. "We don't go in without full details. You know this."
"These girls are dying, Mason." Brody argues, his jaw clenched.
"You think i don't know what's happening?" I snap. "I'm not putting you guys' lives on the line without knowing exactly what we're walking into. So unless you can get me every single detail I want, we don't. make. a. move."
I hold his eye contact, until he eventually backs down, clicking his teeth in annoyance but not arguing anymore.
"Tell Scotty to call Declan. I want all of their tech tapped into, any movement from the last month, and any person they've been in contact with." I list off to Marcos who nods. "Get it to me no later than tomorrow morning."
