Sam, entered Eve's room with purpose, immediately noticing the glow of her phone illuminating the otherwise dim space. Concern etched across his face, he approached Eve, who seemed engrossed in the content on her screen. Without hesitation, Sam kindly but firmly asked her to hand over the device and head to bed.

Eve, caught off guard, began to whine, resisting the idea of leaving her digital world behind. "Come on, just a few more minutes. I'm almost done," she protested, her eyes still glued to the captivating images on her phone.

Sam, recognizing the need for a more assertive approach, dismissed Eve's plea with a gentle yet firm tone. "Eve, it's late. You need to rest. Give me the phone," he insisted, extending his hand to retrieve the device.

Undeterred by Eve's protests, Sam decided to take a more direct approach. He gently but firmly pulled the phone from her grasp. Eve, reluctantly surrendering her phone, sighed as Sam continued to emphasize the importance of self-care.

Recognizing the toll on Eve's well-being, Sam reached for a glass of water, handing it to her with a gentle prompt. "Two sips. And then you're going to take your medication. It's important," he advised, his concern evident in his eyes.

As Eve complied, Sam took a moment to place the glass on the bedside table. With care, he tucked her under the cozy duvet, ensuring she was comfortable before leaning down to kiss her forehead. "Rest well. " he whispered, his affectionate gesture comforting her.

Leaving Eve's room, Sam navigated the quiet halls to check on Evan. Finding his younger sibling already asleep, he took Evan's phone from the bedside table, careful not to disturb the peaceful slumber. Returning to his own room, Sam settled in, the house now enveloped in a serene hush as the siblings entered a much-needed night of rest.

Sam, weary from the day's demands, silently entered the room where Cece was immersed in her laptop. Sensing the need for repose, Sam delicately lifted the laptop from Cece's lap, a subtle gesture indicating that it was time to unwind. "Time for bed, baby," Sam whispered, a soft smile playing on his lips.

Cece, acknowledging the unspoken cue, reclined on the bed as Sam gently covered her with the comforting warmth of the comforter. The room basked in the tranquility of the moment as Sam joined her under the covers, creating a sanctuary within their shared space. Hushed exhales and tender exchanges marked their quiet conversation, the language of their connection transcending words.

The serenity, however, was disrupted by the intrusion of Sam's phone, its screen illuminating with 'James.' Sam, a hint of puzzlement in his expression, answered the call. "Hello?"

"Hi, Sam!" James' voice resonated through the phone. "You were right. Cece is pregnant. Congratulations, Sam."

An avalanche of emotions cascaded over Sam - joy, surprise, and anticipation painted his features. "Oh, thanks, James," Sam responded, a blend of gratitude and excitement coloring his voice.

"I just wanna ask you to send me the urinalysis reports. I need to look for glucose and protein," Sam continued, redirecting the conversation toward the practicalities of the moment.

"Yea, sure. Meanwhile, Cece's iron profile is quite low," James informed, the professional tone juxtaposed against the earlier celebratory note.

"No worries, James. I'll see you tomorrow at the hospital. I'll bring her for her first prenatal check-up," Sam reassured, the gravity of impending parenthood asserting itself.

"Great. See you tomorrow. Good night," James concluded, and the call concluded. Sam laid the phone down, the echoes of the conversation lingering in the room.

Turning to Cece in the dim light, Sam detected a hesitation in her demeanor. "Cece, we're going for your first prenatal check-up tomorrow," Sam declared, a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes.

Cece's countenance shifted - a medley of surprise, fear, and reluctance painted her expression. "No, Sam, I can't. I'm scared," Cece protested, her voice tinged with genuine anxiety.

Understanding Cece's apprehension, Sam extended his hand, gently grasping hers. "I know it's intimidating, but it's crucial. We need to take care of you and the baby," Sam explained, his tone a soothing blend of reassurance and determination.

"But I just got myself checked today, na," Cece sighed, expressing her reluctance.

"Yes, you did, and that was a routine check. Starting tomorrow, we'll initiate your prenatal check-ups. It's for the well-being of both you and the baby," Sam reassured, his words echoing with a sense of responsibility and care.

As Cece continued to voice her concerns, Sam, with unwavering determination, addressed each fear. He underscored the importance of prenatal care and the supportive journey that lay ahead. The room, once filled with the palpable excitement of impending parenthood, now held the intricate tapestry of shared emotions as the couple navigated this new chapter, hand in hand, their connection deepening with each tender moment.

The next day, the soft glow of dawn filtered through the curtains as Sam stirred awake. Gently nudging Cece, he whispered, "Cece, come on, get up. You need to get ready."

Cece, wrapped in the warmth of the comforter, emitted a soft whine, unwilling to part from the embrace of sleep. "No, Sam," she protested, pulling the comforter tighter around her. "Just some more time."

Sam chuckled, the affectionate tone underlying his persistence. "Cece, what are you doing? Come on, get up, baby. We have to get ready for the check-up."

Cece's protest continued, her reluctance evident. "No, no, Sam. Just a bit more time."

Sam, undeterred, leaned in closer. "No more time, Cece. Come on," he insisted, gently tugging at the comforter. "Go and freshen up. It's an important day for us and the baby."

Cece sighed, her eyes still closed, attempting to negotiate for a few more moments of reprieve. "Can't we just... postpone it a bit?"

Sam, now sitting on the edge of the bed, grinned. "Nice try, love, but we can't keep the doctor waiting. Besides, it's our baby's first check-up. We've got to make sure everything's perfect."

With a final playful tug, Sam managed to coax Cece out from her cocoon of comfort. "Okay, okay, I'm getting up," she relented, giving in to Sam's gentle persistence.

As Cece reluctantly rose from the bed, Sam teased, "You know, you're going to be an amazing mom, but first, let's conquer this first check-up hurdle together."

Cece reluctantly sat up as Sam encouraged her to get ready for the important day ahead. After leaving the room, Sam headed to the living room.
