Cece, in a haze of pain and panic, reached down to touch her baby bump. As her fingers grazed the tender skin, she let out a piercing cry, Her hand recoiled in shock
now slick with blood. The intense agony
was compounded by the sharp shards of
glass embedded in her abdomen, remnants
of a shattered car window."Ahhhhh, please help! Somebody, please help!" she cried out desperately, her voice quivering with fear and pain. "Eve! Eve, please, are you listening to me?"
As she tried to turn her head to look at Eve, the effort was met with a failed attempt, and a tear escaped, rolling down her cheek. Cece's body squirmed in distress, her cries a desperate plea for aid. "Ahhhh, my baby. Oh, Jesus, please help me. Please...oww," she moaned.
Turning her head with immense effort,
Cece's heart sank as she saw Eve lying
unconscious on the road, a pool of blood
forming around her. Panic surged through
Cece's body, intensifying her cries for help.
"Eve! Oh no, Eve! Somebody, please help
us!".Her voice echoed into the night, but the
dark, empty road offered no immediate
comfort. The sight of Eve, badly injured and
unresponsive, fueled Cece's desperation.
She tried to move towards her but
was immobilized by her own injuries and
the searing pain from the glass shards.Several cars sped by, their headlights
cutting through the darkness, but none
stopped. Cece's hope flickered with each
passing vehicle, her voice growing hoarse
as she continued to cry out. "Help!
Somebody, please stop!"One car slowed down, its brake lights
briefly illuminating the road, but then it
sped off, leaving Cece feeling more
desperate and helpless than before. Tears
streamed down her face as she clutched her bloodied abdomen, pain and fear mingling into a torturous blend.A few more cars passed by, their
passengers glancing but not stopping
perhaps unsure of the severity of the
situation or unwilling to get involved.
Cece's vision blurred with tears, her
strength waning. She looked back at Eve,
her heart breaking at the sight of Eve
lying motionless. Finally a car approached, its headlights cutting through the darkness, and it slowed to a stop by the side of the road. Two compassionate individuals rushed out, realizing the gravity of the situation. They quickly assessed the scene and, recognizing the urgency, dialed emergency services.
"There's a woman here, she's pregnant and
badly injured. We need an ambulance right
away!" one of them spoke urgently into the
phone, detailing the critical situation to
emergency services. The other person knelt beside Cece,
carefully avoiding the shards of glass
protruding from her abdomen. "Hang in
there, we're getting help. Stay with us,
they urged, their tone soothing yet firm.Cece's body squirmed in distress, her cries
a desperate plea for aid. "Ahhhh, my baby.
Oh, Jesus, please help me. Please...oww,"
she moaned before everything faded into
blackness. One of the individuals noticed a bag nearby and, upon inspection, found a card inside with the words "Dr. Samuel" and details of a hospital. They swiftly retrieved Cece's phone, revealing a lock screen image of the same man – Dr. Sam. The realization struck them; they knew who this was.
"I found two ladies seriously injured on the road. From her bag, I found your number," one of the Good Samaritans explained to the voice on the other end of the line.
Sam, on the receiving end of the call, was taken aback. "Sorry? What are you talking about?"
"I found two ladies. One of them is pregnant, and she's in bad shape," the person continued, offering the details with urgency.
