Han Jisung
“y/n~ are you coming?” My best friend, Mia, pretty much shouted at the other end of the phone.
“Yes, I’m getting ready. I will be at yours in half an hour.” I held the phone away from my ear as I answered.
“Ok, see you soon!” Mia shouted again.
There was a party at Mia’s tonight. As her best friend, I was pretty much forced to go. I normally avoided parties, but I had to go to support Mia. At first I protested going to the party because I knew he was going to be there. By he, I meant her older brother. He was older by two years.
I had the biggest crush on him and had since I was a kid. He was just perfect in every way. He was hot, funny, smart, talented… I could go on. I hadn’t told anyone how I felt about him though because the fear of Mia finding out and getting angry at me was big. If she found out that I had a crush on her brother she would be weirded out and I didn’t want that. I didn’t want to lose her friendship. She had been my best friend since we started school.
I checked my outfit one more time. I was wearing a short red dress that wasn’t tight, but it showed off what I wanted to show. I said goodbye to my parents and left the house. They knew about the party and because it was Mia, they were ok with me going. Mia’s house wasn’t that far from mine so I could easily walk there. I had a bag full of overnight stuff as I was staying over after the party. I was going to be putting it in Mia’s room.
When I arrived at the house, nobody was there yet. I walked up to the house and rang the doorbell. Mia’s brother, Jisung, opened the door. I looked up at him, he was in casual clothes and he still looked like a snack. I looked at him up and down, opening my mouth to speak before I felt my arm being grabbed by Mia.
“y/n! You’re here and wow you look amazing!” Mia smiled at me bringing me into a hug.
“Hey Mia, you look amazing too.” I smiled back, hugging my friend.
Mia broke the hug and dragged me to her room. I looked back at Jisung who, as soon as I looked at him, turned his gaze away, going into the kitchen. I gave a confused look, following my best friend. We still had a little time before the party started so we made finishing touches to our fits.
Soon enough the party was in full swing. Both Mia and Jisung had invited their friends and in turn a whole load of other people turned up. I stood in the living room with Mia, a red cup of alcohol in my hand. She was talking to some of the people in our friendship group, while I was looking elsewhere… her brother.
He had changed out of the clothes he wore when he opened the door and was wearing a tight shirt, showing his muscles and skinny jeans. He really looked amazing. He caught me staring. He smiled, waving at me. I blushed deeply, looking away and at my friends. I could have sworn I heard him laugh a little.
I took a swig of what was in my cup. I wasn’t planning on getting drunk tonight. I had to stay sober enough because I had to take care of Mia. I knew she was planning to drink the night away. I had always been like that with her. She was the same with me. We protected each other. I loved her for that.
I scanned the room, my eyes widened when I saw who was here. My ex was sitting on one of the sofas in the living room talking to some girl. I dated to forget Jisung but that was just impossible. I tapped Mia’s shoulder. She turned around to me.
“Ha-Yoon… He’s here, Mia…” I looked at my friend.
“Wait what?” She followed my gaze, “Just ignore him y/n. You broke up with him, remember. He cheated on you.”
I just nodded. I turned to talk with my friends, trying to ignore Ha-Yoon’s presence in the room and have a good time. Mia smiled at me, putting her arm around my shoulder. I smiled back, taking a drink. I could feel someone’s eyes on me. I looked at Jisung, he was laughing with his friends so it wasn’t him. It was someone else.
Ha-Yoon.
I excused myself out of the room, going into the back garden for air. I stood on the deck and put my hands on the railing, looking at the lit pool. Someone stood next to me. I turned to see who it was. It was exactly who I didn’t want it to be. Ha-Yoon. I rolled my eyes and moved away from him slightly.
He seemed to just come closer to me. This boy just couldn’t get the hint could he. I moved away, but I was backed into a corner. I could see a smile on the boy’s face. He looked at me. He looked like a predator and I was his prey.
~jisung’s pov~
I watched y/n walk out of the house and that boy following her. I knew he was her ex. I remembered hearing her crying over him to Mia because he cheated on her. I wanted to comfort her at that time, but I didn’t think she’d want that because I was just her best friend’s brother. I wanted to be more than that. You could say that I had always had a soft spot for y/n.I watched them out of the kitchen window which had a perfect view of the back garden. I watched how that bastard kept getting closer to her and she moved away from him. She was backed into a corner. I saw how he was looking at her. It made my blood boil. I wasn’t going to step in, just yet. I knew y/n could handle herself.
~y/n’s pov~
Ha-Yoon came closer to me.“Leave me alone, Ha-Yoon. What do you want from me?” I glared at the boy.
“You. I want you back, y/n. I was a fool for cheating on you. I’m so sorry. I love you.” He looked at me.
“You cheated. Now you want me back. No chance.” I rolled my eyes.
“Come on, baby. Don’t be like that.” He grabbed my arm, taking me back towards the house.
“Let go of me!” I screamed, trying to pry my hand away from him.
“I want to show you how much I love you.” He slurred, he was drunk.
Before I could say anything someone tackled Ha-Yoon. It was Jisung. My wrist left Ha-Yoon’s grasp as Jisung started beating him up, saying things I couldn’t quite hear properly. Whatever Jisung said made Ha-Yoon mad as he started throwing punches at him. Jisung’s friends came running out. I went in to stop them from fighting but was stopped by Jisung’s friend, Chan. I watched them fight screaming for them to stop. Mia came running out, she seemed sober. She pulled her brother away and told everyone to clear off as this had gained quite a crowd. She dragged Ha-Yoon out by his ear, screaming profanities at him.
Jisung looked at me, his lip and eyebrow was bleeding from where he had been hit. I was going to talk to him until Mia pulled me away. I looked back at him. Our eyes on each other. I looked at Mia. She was taking me away from the scene, but I needed to talk to Jisung. I needed to know why he started fighting Ha-Yoon. I was going to wait until everything was a little more calm before talking to Jisung.
~after the party - 2 hours later~
Everyone had now left. Mia was drunk so I was taking her to bed. I heard Jisung say goodnight to his friends and close the front door. I did what I needed to do to help Mia. She fell asleep pretty quickly. I left the room. I looked for Jisung. I saw him in the back garden, sitting on the outside sofa with a beer in his hand.“Hey…” I sat next to him.
“Oh, hi.” He looked at me.
“Why did you do that? Why did you start beating him up?” I played with the end of my dress.
“I couldn’t stand seeing him touch you. I like you, y/n. I really like you.” He looked down.
My eyes widened as I looked at him. I didn’t know what to say. I was shocked that he liked me too. That’s when I confessed to him how I felt. He smiled, asking if he could kiss me. I nodded. He smiled and started to lean in. Our lips met. He cupped my cheek, tilting his head slightly to deepen the kiss slightly. I broke the kiss for air, hugging him tightly. I was still shocked he liked me back.
