Valentine's Day, a world of hearts. But for some, it's where bitterness starts. A day of love, a sea of red. Flowers and cards, sweet displays, But she's lost in this heart-shaped maze. A reminder of lost, love or never found. The day the miracle is born: Victoria Rosewood. A friend of the Gladers was born on February 14th. The situation is easier said than done when her birthday is the day tomorrow.
So, what could go wrong on February 13th? The day before her birthday. In the kitchen: Gally, Minho, Frypan, Thomas, Aris, Newt, Thèrèse, Nancy, Sonya, Bea, Teresa were all helping preparing decorations for Vicky's birthday. Vicky is with Brenda and Harriet, the two girls distracting her.
"Alright people, we're in trouble here." Thèrèse said. Her hands working and her body is moving all over the kitchen in hurry. "We've only got 19 hours and 54 minutes left! Move! Move! Move!" She said, to the others whose preparing the foods on the table.
Sonya, Bea and Teresa hurry up to join the rest of the Gladers in the kitchen for the final preparations. The mood in the kitchen is chaotic, everyone is busy and running around to get everything done in time. Gally, Frypan and Minho are the ones cooking, while the other Gladers are decorating the kitchen with red hearts, balloons and streamers. It seems like they're running out of time, but they are determined to make Victoria's birthday as special as possible.
Minho stared up at her, "Thèrèse. I feel like you should have German subtitles." He said sarcastically. Thèrèse didn't say anything, because she hurried up to see what's Aris doing. "Aris, speed it up!" She said as she watched Aris struggling to roll the dough.
"I am going as fast as I can! Give me a break!" Aris shoots back, as he continues to struggle with the dough. Thérèse rolls her eyes and walks over to him, grabs the rolling pin and starts helping him out. It seems like Thérése is a control freak, who doesn't trust anyone else to do the job properly.
Thèrèse watched as she hurriedly mixed the batter in the large bowl she had in her arms.
"Thèrèse, how did this happen?" Bea asked, as she planned out the decorations. "I thought you had this all planned out?"
"I did." Thérése replies, "I swear I have everything accounted for and planned out to the smallest detail, but somehow it always ends like this. We always end up rushing things and stressing out, and I always end up having to take over." She continues to beat the batter as hard as she can, trying to get it ready as fast as possible. She's obviously stressed out and nervous about not being able to meet the deadline.
"Do you wanna see me cry? Is that what you want?" Thèrèse asked. "Do you wanna see me cry?" She cried out. Bea blinked back, shaking her head. "Sir, no sir!"
Teresa walked over, and she put her hands around Thèrèse' shoulders. "Calm down, Thèrèse. Calm down."
Thérése quickly calms down after Teresa puts her hands on her shoulders. She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, trying to collect herself. She's still visibly stressed out and nervous, but she's trying to calm down and get back to work. After a few seconds, she opens her eyes and takes another deep breath, looking back at the batter.
Thèrèse moved to Thomas. "Alright you, ball a melon!" She said hurriedly.
"Hey, how come I'm stuck at dicing and he gets to ball a melon?" Minho asked and Thomas stared blankly at him.
"Shut up and do what you're told." Thérése snarls, and Thomas just nods quietly and goes to follow her instructions. She doesn't seem to care if things are fair and balanced, she just wants the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. She's clearly not in the mood to mess around with Minho's complaints.
