Three years had passed. The Resistance had grown stronger, bolder.

The world had not returned to what it used to be, but it was better. The infected were fewer, the cities were rebuilt, and children could walk outside without risking the chance to get attacked.

The city of Emberfield had grown into a bustling hub of activity, its harbor now filled with not only merchant vessels but also several ships belonging to the Right Arm.

The once-separated factions had come together and reunited with Vivian, Vincent, Jorge, Mary and the Right Arm teens.

The Right Arm people continued to visit Emberfield, each of them taking pride in the city's progress.

Thomas stood on the deck of the Silver Wave, the largest of the Right Arm's ships. He leaned against the railing, his eyes taking in the familiar sight of the harbor of Emberfield.

The air was filled with the sound of seagulls, the salty wind, and the bustle of activity.

He watched as the Right Arm sailors unloaded the ship's cargo, some of it supplies, others personal items meant for friends and loved ones.

"Thomas! Thomas, you are here finally!"

Thomas heard the familiar voice calling his name. He turned to see Nancy standing on the pier, waving at him with a wide smile on her face. She had grown up so much in the past few years. They both had.

He smiled warmly at her and quickly made his way off the ship, jumping onto the pier and embracing her tightly.

"It's good to be home," Thomas said, breaking the hug but keeping his arms around her.

Nancy reached up and pushed some loose hair from his face. "You look tired," she said softly, a hint of concern in her eyes. "And a little older."

Thomas chuckled. "Is that your way of telling me I have wrinkles now?"

"Maybe a few," she teased, her fingers tracing the lines around his eyes.

Thomas caught her hand and lifted it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles. "Well, I guess I've earned those wrinkles. It's been a hell of a three years."

"And are you saying being married to me for three years had been a hell?" Nancy teased.

Thomas feigned a look of horror. "Of course not. Marrying you has been nothing short of blissful. I just meant dealing with all the Right Arm business. Being out at sea all the time. Missing you."

"And speaking of that," Thomas added, a small grin creeping onto his face. "I have something for you."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small cloth bundle, tied tightly with a leather strap. He handed it to her, watching expectantly.

Nancy carefully undid the knot and unfolded the cloth, her eyes widening at the sight before her.

Nestled inside the bundle was a silver locket, its surface intricately carved with intricate patterns.
