The Rookie - Lost

Part 7

In the morning, Lucy got ready and headed to the station early.

Tim woke up, really happy. He had two daughters, he has always dreamed of this and now that dream is true. He just wished that it went a little different than what it has been.

He gently woke the girls up and got them ready for the station. Kojo walked up to Abby and sat down. Then all of a sudden, Tim heard Kojo bark.

Tim: "What's wrong boy?" Kojo stayed next to Abby. Tim went and checked her levels. She was low, Tim immediately got her some food and sat her on the couch.

Tim (to Kojo): "Good boy." He gave him love while waiting to re-test Abby. Abby's levels were on the rise and they went to leave. Tim put Kojo's lead on him and went to take him to the car but he sat there.

Tim: "Come on Kojo, let's go." He just didn't move.

Tim: "Abby, can you come here." She comes over and Kojo immediately walks to her. Tim was worried about how Kojo would be.

Tim: "Kojo, be gentle. Abby, here's his lead. Be careful." Tim watched as Kojo slowly walked at Abby's side, not pull or be ruff. Tim knew Kojo was smart and he clearly picked up on Abby's health. Tim grabbed Jackie's hand and walks her out. They hope in the car, they make a quick stop to grab food.

They arrive at the station, Tim helped the girls out and they headed in the station. Abby was a bit anxious, Kojo turned his head and touched her with his nose which made her stop. Kojo moved closer to her, snuggling against her, once she was calm they continued walking. Everyone was gushing over Kojo but Tim stopped them, telling them that he was working. One person got close to Kojo, he didn't even look at the person. His focus was on Abby, and he moved out of the way of the person.

Angela saw them walk in.

Angela: "Well, good morning. Is it bring your dog to work today?"

Tim: "No, but he is working."

Angela: "What?"

Tim: "He's helping Abby, being a comfort and he even picked up on her low level this morning. He then picked up on her being anxious. I'm going to talk to Grey about this."

Angela: "Too late, his coming this way."

Grey: "Bradford, why is your dog here?"

Tim: "I was coming to talk to you. Kojo is helping Abby out. He is amazing with her, so gentle and picks up when she is low or high or even when she is anxious."

Grey looks over and sees a change in Abby.

Grey: "Omg, she has definitely come out of her shell. Kojo can stay, as long as he is near her." Lucy was at her desk, feeling the exhaustion and everything catching up to her, she never told anyone that she was really struggling. She has now planned to work move shifts on days that Tim takes the girls. Everyone was busy until they heard a dog bark. Lucy recognised the bark and headed over.

Kojo barked because Abby's levels weren't normal. Tim quickly sprung into action and tested her, she was low. He gave her meds and then a snack to eat, he rewarded Kojo. Lucy looked at the sight, seeing how quick Tim went to his daughter's side and the way Kojo was with her. Lucy was confused but also amazed.

Jackie saw her mum.

Jackie: "Mama." She ran over and hugged Lucy.

Lucy: "Had fun?" Jackie nodded. Tim saw Lucy.

Tim: "Hey, their angels. They were amazing to have spend the night."

Lucy: "That's good. As long as you all had a good time."

Tim: "We did, but you and I need to talk." Lucy was a bit nervous, as she wasn't sure what it was about.

Tim: "Ang, can you look after the girls? I need to speak with their mum." She nodded. Tim and Lucy went to his office.
