Chapter 16: Vengeance

Aurora looked at the twenty guards blocking the corridor, she threw all the choke bombs at them and the whole group started coughing heavily, she armored herself in light constructs, formed blunt light spears and began her attack, with great strength and speed she threw five of them knocking out four guards in the process.

The choke dust dissipated, a few seconds after that the guards regained their composure, the Demi-Human threw another spear and knocked out another guard before being forced to engage in close quarters, with a beat of her wings she jumped above the guards and landed behind the rearguard where five crossbowmen were, they turned to face the Demi-Human and shot at her but with a twirl of her spear she managed to deflect any bolts that might've hit her, from the spinning she followed up with quick stabs and swings to the heads of the crossbowmen knocking them out swiftly.

Only ten more guards remained, two of them wielding longswords charged the woman, one jumped up and slashed downward at Aurora's head but she blocked the hit by raising the spear up and using its midsection to stop the blade, the other guard slashed at her scaly ankles but the blade was stopped at contact, she used her claw to grab the first guard that was still in the air and forcefully threw him at rest then used her foot to grab the second one's head and slam it on the ground knocking him out in the process and throwing him to the side.

Five guards were on the ground trying to regain their footing, the four that were still standing rushed the Demi-Human, two greatsword wielders diagonally slashed at her from both sides, her spear faded as she dropped to the ground and rolled backwards using her tail and wings as impulse, the two greatswords clashed against each other and were quickly pulled back into a ready stance by their wielders, Aurora got up from the ground and summoned a staff with various bumps on each end.

Two guards rushed from behind the greatsword wielders and attacked her, she blocked a flurry of attacks from a rapier while twirling her staff, the other guard approached from the side and swung down his hammer, Aurora used her wing to shield herself but still grunted in pain, with a swift uppercut from her staff she hit the rapier wielder on the chin knocking him out and with her tail she grabbed the hammer wielder by the ankle, flapped her wings, flipped on the air and used the guard she held as a weapon to knock out one of the greatsword wielders, the other took a swing at her but missed, Aurora dropped the guard in her tail and dive kicked her assailant knocking him out, the five remaining guards grunted together as they finally managed to untangle from each other, the Demi-Human took a deep breath and readied herself for another round.

With heavy steps and a dark aura surrounding him Alimur approached Valok at the end of the dimly lit room, the Duke turned around to see who called him in vain, the Human formed his shadow arm and a solid black sword, as the Beastkin started speaking the man threw the blade.

-You?! DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO CRA_- The Beastkin's tirade was cut short by the weapon Alimur threw almost splitting his face in half, luckily for him he managed to dodge in time.

The blade hit the window behind Valok shattering it in the process, a strong wet wind invaded the office and extinguished the lights, now only the very faint moonlight illuminated the space, the darkness put the Duke at a disadvantage as even though he could see in the dark Alimur was stronger in it.

-I LET YOU LIVE SO THAT YOU COULD BRING ME YOUR FATHER!- Frost Fang shouted angrily while readying himself for battle -YOU SPAT ON THE FACE OF MERCY AND NOW I'LL KILL YOU FOR IT!-

The Human unsheathed his longsword and a booming thunder marked the beginning of the confrontation.

Valok created multiple ice shards and directed them all at Alimur, with quick flourishes he destroyed each shard with otherworldly precision, the Beastkin was momentarily stunned by this show of power and in his distraction the Human approached swiftly slashing diagonally with great strength, his sword emanating a dark mist, Frost Fang blocked the attack and redirected it towards his office table, Alimur's slash cleanly cut the table in half and quickly the sword was brought back with seemingly even greater strength, the Duke jumped away in this manner dodging the attack.
