Chapter 27: Right Choice

The couple made their final preparations to board the celeryuso that goes to the gate in the Darkan district, Alimur handed Aurora her Council badge and she inspected it in awe, Alexander, Namizu, Tuinn, Kalige and Mufam said their goodbyes to the duo, Alexander and Mufam discuss something until the dark skinned Human looks around and materializes a backpack from the air and slams it into the Beastkin's chest, Alexander nods and Mufam rushes into the metal cabin, he sits beside the duo.

-One last mission- He turned to the duo -I'll acompany you two and find a replacement for me in Deighel-

Alimur smiles and gives the Beastkin a shake.

Hours pass, the couple was slightly uncomfortable as Mufam stood completely silent and they didn't want their courting being interrupted, a screech broke the seal of silence, the Beastkin and the Demi-Human get ready for battle, Alimur commands them to stand down and they relent with small complaints, Linuro the black Harpy lands in front of the Human, he noted her uniform was a simple brownish shirt with the Council's coat of arms on the back and a smaller version of it on her chest, a green skirt covered half of her scaled legs, she digs out two letters from her satchel and whistles.

-Here this is from Svaril and the other is from Hylsadrou-

-From when?- Alimur questioned sternly.

-The one from Svaril is from a few hours ago and_-

-A FEW HOURS AGO?!- Aurora incredulously shouted.

Night comes and the trio sets up camp, around the bonfire Mufam talks about the fight against his predecessor in the Council.

Coica understood and tried her best to explain... but neither of us could get through to her... and five years ago she said she never wanted to see me again- Mufam covered his face and breathed heavily.

Alimur was silent as he had no idea on how to console his mentor and friend, Aurora noticed her boyfriend's inaction and spoke up in soft caring tone.
