Chapter 20: Carefree Hours

The duo exited the celeryuso in the middle of the BeSea district shared by Beastkin and Seafolk, Aurora took in the sights, stone buildings similar to the Human district were far and few between the predominant houses were made of either wood logs or planks.

Bovine Beastkin were the second most prominent their hooves beating on the stone street and their very simple clothes flapped with the breeze, the females were spotted in black and white while the males had horns and were either colored black or brown.

Beastkin with triangular ears, fluffy fur all over, and tails freely swinging, some of them had stripes like a tiger while others had one solid color, these are cat Beastkin descendants of tigers and lions, alongside the cats were dog Beastkin with droopy ears and either fluffy or sleek fur, these dogs are descendants of wolfs, cat and dog Beastkins shared in very similar numbers in the capital and dressed themselves mostly in simple comfortable clothes, one or two Beastkin Demi-Humans that shared traits to the other Beastkin walking about and some of these were acompanied by their parents.

A few wolf, tiger and lion Beastkins harassed their fellows with harsh words and small stones as they found cat and dog Beastkins inferior for abandoning the hunter fighter lifestyle common to their race, some Beastkin and Human guards were quick to crack down on this while some other Beastkin guards simply watched without interfering or partaking.

Alimur sighed as he saw the scene, the guards that acted belittled their fellows for not doing anything, Aurora didn't even see the scene as her gaze bounced all over the street, this new Beastkin species for her was interesting, the clothes wore by them, and the other Beastkin as well, it was easy to tell she never saw anything like this that merged old and new so well, her friend looked at her and let out another sigh this time a worried one as he wished for this harassment never to happen to his friend.

-Alimur, look at that- The Human's thoughts are interrupted by the Demi-Human pointing at one of the stone buildings -That place attends other races-

-Is that a salon?-

-We?-

-Yes, you need a shave and a haircut-

-Hmm- Alimur touched his chin then passed his hand through his hair -I have to thank Drodegan later for giving us so much stuff-

-Well I also have your old bag... from your old team... sorry-

-It's ok- The Human responded calmly.

The duo walked inside the salon and are greeted by a cat Beastkin wearing black clothes and a witch hat from which her purpleish ears poked out from, the other clients of varied races slowly left one by one as the staff completed their jobs.

-Nyahi I'm Blair, how can I help you two today?- She asked in a cheerful tone with her relatively high-pitched voice.

-My friend needs a haircut and a shave, I would like to get some grooming for my scales and a haircut as well- Aurora answers while griping Alimur's shoulder.

-Nyakay, Maka!- A blonde female Human with short twin tails stops reading her book and walks over, Blair continues -Give this lady some of your world renowned scale grooming along a nice haircut, Nyakay?-

The blonde nods and ushers the Demi-Human to a separate room, Aurora gives her friend a smile and waves, in turn he sighs and opens the bag contaning riches but is stopped by Blair's paw.

-Nyo, we only take payment when the client is satisfied-

-Seems like an awful business venture- Alimur says in a mocking tone while reattaching the bag to his waist.
