Chapter 28: Second Thoughts

-The waters freezing
The winds are cold
but our love is bold
and our homes' the sea- The ship's crew sang together in a happy tune.

-We sail to and fro
Across the seas we go
We sail to and fro
Across the seas we go- Mufam joins the singing.

-The stars are shining
As we leave our home
The lands' calling
Oh, soon I'll begone- Aurora claps along the crew and joins the tune.

-We sail to and fro
Across the seas we go
We sail to and fro
Far from home we go- Alimur sings along and his girlfriend grabs his arm to dance with him.

-From the waters below our lovers sing!- Captain Mayweather shouted in tune as the song came to a close.

-We command the waters
You command the ship
Together we rule the seas
Together to and fro we go- The Seafolks' voices could be heard from below the ship alongside their offsprings'.

-TOGETHER WE RULE THE SEAS!- The crew, Edna, the Seafolk and their offspring shouted all in tandem.

Well into the night Alimur, Aurora and Mufam helped the crew with sailing, soon Mayweather shouted a command.

-DROP THE ANCHOR! THE COMPANY NEEDS TO HIT THE KELP!-

A female Human called Aurora to help with the anchor, a male Beastkin had just finished tying up the the metal object in bone kelp rope, the Demi-Human went over to the main deck grabbed the anchor and dropped it over the taffrail, the crew was dumbfounded at the how easily Aurora set the anchor.

Edna came down to the main deck and patted Alimur's back in a somber manner.

-My condolences- The captain snickered and walked over the side of the ship.

Alimur was confused but too tired to properly think of the implications she was making, Mufam guided the couple to a secondary private cabin and spoke between his snickering.

-Edna gracefully let you two use this cabin, usually it's for members of the council such as myself but since you're a couple- The Beastkin nudged the Human -It'd better for you to have some privacy-

Mayweather opened her arms and whistled, her daughter jumped from the waters and into her arms, the Demi-Human gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and a hug, a male voice came from below.

-Everyone's already strapped to the hull-

-And you told me it was useless- The ginger Human replied in a mocking tone.

-I'd feel more comfortable sleeping with you-

-Me too honey but the bed would get too wet-

-Why am I sleeping with mama then?- The small Demi-Human questioned innocently.

-You're to small for the straps unlike the rest of your "cousins", "aunts" and "uncles"- Edna replied in a motherly tone and nuzzled closer to her daughter -And mama loves you a lot-

The three laughed, the shark Seafolk swam underneath the ship and strapped himself in a padded mattress attached to the hull of the galleon, the captain dried her daughter with a towel and retired to her bedroom.

Alimur placed Jorn's skull in a small table and turned it to face the wall, before he let it go the skull grew cold.

-Nothing of the sort, I just don't like the thought of you watching at all- The Human responded.
