Alimur softly cleaned Aurora's face with a humid cloth, every stroke was delicate and careful, he heard hooves against the wood and averted his gaze to the door, Khim entered the room and sat on the floor beside the Human, the chimera was quiet and merely observed the man cleaning his beloved, after a few minutes he stopped and set the cloth on the bedside stand, he sat against the wall beside the egg and faced the woman.

-What is it?- He asked tenderly.

-What you said about father... was it true?- She asked somberly.

Alimur took a deep breath.

-Love is complicated, sometimes it can be direct and bold like a serpent's kiss... others it can be beautiful and sporadic like a Dragon's flight... even more it can be subtle but ever present like a lion's stalking and there are many ways to love, your father may not have been always there but his love never faded... my father was mostly present to train me but when he wasn't... I still knew he loved me with all his heart, Mufam is trying to be like a serpent, just reflect on what he means to you and hopefully let him in-

The Human's words rang in her mind... she looked at the man and her eyes trailed to the unconscious woman.

-What is your love like? For her and your father-

-Heh, I try to be like a serpent... but for my father... I still love him for the moments we shared, my memories are set to when he was with me-

Khim got up and bowed to the Human.

-Thank you Alimur-

The man gave her a sweet smile and she smiled back, Khim left the room as if a curse had been lifted however her mind still fought to cling to her hate, "Father...".

Memories, being fed full pieces of meat and mother slamming a ladle on his head, watching bloody fights of the bandits condemned to death and hearing his cheers, he left and returned many times, throwing things at him and cursing for him never to return, meeting a lover, crying for not being able to bear children.

Khim searched the house but found neither her father nor mother, her mind clicked and today was the last round to decide the Beastkin seat on the Council, she rushed to the Pugbeha and got there just in time to enter.

-WELCOME DEAR BEASTS! TODAY WE HAVE THE FINAL MATCH FOR THE NEXT COUNCIL MEMBER! AND FOR THIS IMPORTANT EVENT KECO HAS ALLOWED THE CITIZENS TO WATCH! ON ONE SIDE WE HAVE MUFAM LOINES!-

Khim's eyes widened.

-AND ON THE OTHER KHIM THE CHIMERA!-

Father and daughter entered the arena and faced each other, Mufam didn't have his armor as per tradition, Khim looked him up and down and cursed, the lion looked at the palanquin and shouted.

-KECO! WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS?!-

-TO THE DEATH!- The Borlar responded before gargling on a large mug.

-I REFUSE!- Mufam rebuked violently.

Khim breathed in and out various times before muttering.

-I refuse... I REFUSE!-

-THEN BOTH OF YOU WILL BE EXECUTED ALONG... WHATEVER MUFAM'S WIFE IS CALLED!-

The audience cursed at their leader and flocked violently to him.

-Stop!- Keco shouted as he was thrown out of his throne and into the arena, he got up and looked at his brother, the Borlar spoke.

-By our power as the clans leaders, we sentence Keco to trial by might, we've accepted your deviations for too long- His brother commanded in a regal tone.
