6 MONTHS LATER

People can be mean to other people.

That's what Sue learned for the past few months. Well, after the historic and controversial presscon of her parents, where she's been introduced, there's a lot of talk about a lot of things. Everyone has their opinion regarding the matter, some make sense, and some are just, uh, never mind.

"Home wrecker! Kabit! Malandi! Mang-aagaw ng asawa!"

"Kumabit na nga, nagpaanak pa!"

"Nasa loob talaga ang kulo! Eww! Leni lugaw!"

"Funny how Leni supporters have always claimed Leni as pure and genuine and just this kind woman all this time. Well, guess what, she's a mistress!"

Ayan nag unite yung egg cell saka sperm cell may nabuong anak! Yan ang unity!"

Sue's eyes rolled for the nth time. She doesn't know why she's even reading the comment section. Yeah, she made a dummy account. She sighed and sign out as she went back to reading. Luckily, she has a board exam to prepare for so she's excused from all the tv interviews and guestings.

The door suddenly opened, she saw it's her mom holding a lot of her personal stuff. "Kailan ka po alis nyo?"

"Sa Friday." Leni said, she's packing up for her Rockefeller Foundation residency in Italy.

Leni nodded. She sat at the edge of the bed, facing her daughter. "I will be out for four weeks. Are you gonna be okay here?"

Sue nodded. "Opo. Okay lang po ako dito. Nandito naman po si Ate Aiks. Saka lilipat din po ako kay Daddy."

Leni nodded.

Sue nodded. "Okay po."

Leni smiled and went back to her stuff already. Sue watched her mom for a few seconds, she felt bad for her for all the negative stuff people say about her. "Uh okay lang po ba kayo?"

Leni frowned at her. "Huh? Yes. Oo naman. Bakit?"

Sue nodded slowly.

Saka I found you already, yun ang pinakaimportante."

Sue nodded. That's why she admired her so much. She's so calm.

Leni sighed and sat again in front of her daughter. "Yeah. It's unfair. So unfair actually. Siguro nasa kultura na kasi natin na ganon? Nakakalungkot most of the time, kaya dapat mas mag pursigi pa tayo para mabago ang conversation.

Sue nodded. "Men should be held accountable too. Hay naku!"

Leni laughed. Sue is kinda like her, a better version of her. "Buti nalang hindi ganon ang dad mo. Hindi sya misogynist. Hindi mabilis ma hurt ang ego nya, and he believes in women."
