It was Sunday night and a serious throw down between the Atlanta Knights and Miami Dolphins. They were on Miami's turf so the majority of the pandemonium belonged to them. The Hard Rock Stadium was live with excitement. Anticipation filled the air as fans cheered for their favorite teams. Thousands of people dressed in Aqua, Orange, and white to represent the home team. Atlanta's score was six to Miami's thirteen. The regular season had begun a few weeks prior and so far Atlanta was off to a bad start. They'd lost three games consecutively. Aaron was sick of losing. He was determined to not make tonight their fourth loss, so the pressure was on. However his personal issues were starting to take a toll on him. Aaron had been trying to talk to Kenya since the moment his plane landed. She wouldn't answer and refused to return any of his calls. Aaron was worried. Worried about losing her, his children and his marriage over a few lit nights and some pussy.
The more he thought about it the dumber he felt for allowing himself to get caught up in this type of situation. His moves were careless and now he was filled with regret. Aaron had a lot to lose with this scandal coming out. His infidelity could potentially affect his bag from every aspect. Major deals he's worked hard to get could be taken off of the table due to the video. He wasn't having that. Something needed to be done and fast. Now wasn't the time. Aaron vowed to be on the first thing smoking as soon as his game was over. The players all got into formation at the line of scrimmage. Six seconds were left on the clock in the fourth quarter. This was it. This play would determine the fate of the game. Aaron took a deep breath to calm his nerves before going through with the play. "White eighty" Aaron yelled, calling out the cadence to alert his teammates. "White eight...hut!".
The center hiked the ball, shooting it between his legs. Aaron caught it. He dropped back a few yards, looking for an opening. The players dispersed and charged after one another. Aaron spotted an open teammate down field. He quickly launched the ball into the air, sending it flying across the gridiron at rapid speed. His teammate attempted to catch it but failed to do so. The pass was intercepted by Miami. The crowd went wild as they watched their player run the ball right into the end-zone. "TOUCHDOWN MIAMIIIII!!!!!!" The commentator screamed into the mic.
The stadium was in an uproar as everyone cheered loudly. Atlanta put up a good fight but in the end had lost the game by twenty three points. It was a total wipe out. Aaron dropped his head in shame. He had broken his number one rule and allowed his emotions to interfere with his game. He was pissed. It felt like he had let his team down. If his mind wasn't scattered he would have never misjudged that pass. Though it was no secret why he had. Everyone was aware of the news. It was plastered all over the television and Internet for the world to see. Aaron never felt so exposed in his life.
"Fuuuck!" He screamed, snatching his helmet off and throwing it to the ground. Aaron held his hands above his head and sighed deeply. Normally he wouldn't have been such a sore loser. The fact that Kenya had been screening his calls frustrated him. He needed to get to her but he was too far away. That only pissed him off even more. Aaron didn't know what to expect. He feared going home to an empty house. The thought of Kenya leaving him and taking his kids devastated him.
While the players lined up to shake hands with the other team. Marcus went to check on his boy. To him Aaron was more than just a member of the team. They carried a friendship that exceeded that. Aaron was like his brother. They weren't blood or anything but it didn't matter. Blood wouldn't have made their bond any stronger. Marcus jogged down the field and stopped to retrieve the helmet. Slowly he walked over to Aaron with it dangling by his side. Marcus stood in silence for a few seconds before offering some encouraging words. "Shake that shit off,my nigga. It happens to the best of us, '' Marcus said.
Aaron shook his head from left to right, still upset about his performance. Marcus tried handing him the helmet. Aaron let it linger a few seconds before snatching it away. Marcus didn't take offense. However he wouldn't have taken the act lightly if it had come from anyone else. Finally they started walking towards the locker rooms. A few fans stopped them along the way, asking for autographs and photos. They quickly obliged before entering the tunnel, lagging behind the rest of their team. "Look, all this shit is new. Just give her some time to calm down. She'll call back eventually."
