Kenya remembered when she was a kid. Her mother ran the house on a tight schedule. she had everything mapped out to a science. Her mother always woke up early enough to have breakfast ready on the table for them. Lunch was served by eleven a.m.followed by nap time an hour later. While Kenya and her brother slept her mother took time to catch up on her soaps and daytime talk shows while she prepared dinner. Her mother did all of that while keeping the house spotless throughout the day.

It went on and on. Miss one thing and it'll throw her entire system off. That is when she wasn't working of course because her mother kept a job. Kenya was too young back then to notice what her mother's life had become until now that she was going through the same things. Her mother was in her early twenties back then but she operated like a woman much older. The fact that she was dating a man at least thirteen years her senior may have been the cause. That man being Kenya's father Richard.

Over time she started to look tired and worn out quite often.

It became very clear that raising two children, working, maintaining a household and being a wife was kicking her ass.

She started to smile less and less everyday until it permanently faded away, leaving her with a more serious demeanor. The older Kenya got the more she realized that history was starting to repeat itself. She was slowly but surely becoming her mother.

A robot is what Kenya felt like at times. She too had resulted in completing familiar tasks and behaviors on a daily schedule. Sometimes without even thinking. She'd become so used to doing them that they became a part of her muscle memory. The only excitement she got came from what her children provided. For as bad as they were, they always kept a smile on her face. However This day was dissimilar. Kenya knew from the moment she arose it would be an interesting day. Since having children she'd gotten used to them waking her up at the crack of dawn with their racket because they had baby monitors installed in almost every room due to their home being so big.

It was like having little human alarm clocks. However today it was the unfamiliar that drew her out of her slumber.

The house was quiet. A little too quiet actually. Kenya got out of the bed and threw on her silk robe. She had become familiar with Aaron sometimes taking off early, so it wasn't a cause for concern. However, when she looked at the monitors and didn't see her kids panic set in. She quickly threw the covers back and sat up on the side of the bed. She snatched her phone up off of the nightstand and began dialing Aaron's number. She was just about to press the green button when she noticed something odd from the corner of her eye. A small black card sitting on top of her vanity dresser with the word "Clue" written on it in gold letters. She tossed her phone onto the bed and slowly walked across the room. Kenya turned the card over and began reading it.

"Good morning, Gorgeous. I know you're probably thinking, what is this man up to. I promise if you stick with it and keep an open mind, it'll all make sense in the end. Until then, enjoy yourself. Your next gift will be something sweet. look for it where you would eat. Oh, and don't worry, the kids are safe. I have them with me"

Kenya sighed in relief, realizing he knew just what to say to ease her mind. She could focus a little better now that she knew where her babies were. Aaron wasn't usually the spontaneous type, but the fact that he had taken initiative and put together a scavenger hunt for her was mind-blowing. She had never done anything like this before. So, she was excited to see what adventures lay ahead. She put the card down and grabbed the small black velvet box that sat next to it. Slowly, she opened the box, not wanting to mess up what was on the inside. Her mouth nearly hit the floor when she saw the two carat white gold floral diamond stud earrings inside.
