Cherie had just gotten off from working a fourteen hour shift at the hospital. She was upset because the other nurse that was supposed to relieve her, ended up calling out. That made Cherie have to stay an extra two hours after already completing a twelve hour shift. She was lucky her boss was able to find another nurse to cover the shift so that she could finally go home. To say that she was tired would have been an understatement. Her feet ached terribly. All she wanted to do was eat, shower and get some sleep.

When she pulled up Ray was sitting on the porch talking with one of his homies. Cherie sighed deeply, rolling her eyes as she walked up the stairs. She could already tell what type of night this would be. If Ray had company it meant he hadn't done shit all day. She was overwhelmed with the possibility of walking into a disheveled home and immediately caught an attitude. It took everything in her to not go off after noticing the empty bottles of malt liquor lined up on the ground next to where they were sitting. She felt like it symbolized just how long the two of them were sitting there doing nothing all day while she bust her ass working.

" Oh, What's up, Cherie. long time no see" The friend said in a chipper tone.

Cherie paid him dust as she kept right on walking. Ray followed her with his eyes but remained silent. He watched as she opened the front door and slammed it shut behind her. He shook his head from left to right as he fought the urge to say something to her for being disrespectful to his company. Their relationship had gone to shit lately but Ray knew he was to blame. So, he decided to deal with it, thinking it would blow over. When it didn't he grew fed up with the situation.

" Damn, it's like dat?" The friend replied as he looked at the door confusingly . He didn't appreciate her rudeness especially when he was trying to be hospitable. He felt like if she was going to act like that he could have kept his hello.

" Man, don't let it bother you. She is always mad about something." Ray said, fanning her off before taking another swig of his beer.

Cherie sat her bag down and made her way to the living room. When she got there the first thing she noticed was the mess on top of her coffee table. There were dirty empty plates, blunt guts and cups on top of it. Her couch pillows were out of place and there were crumbs everywhere. To top it off the TV and light was on yet there was no one using them. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. After a few seconds she began cleaning off the table, fussing the entire time. When she was done she carried the plates and cups to the kitchen.

The kitchen wasn't that bad but there were still a few dirty dishes in the sink. She felt her temper rise as she started to stack them up on top of the counter and prepare water. She hated coming home from work only to end up working even more. She felt like things like this should have been taken care of beforehand especially since Ray wasn't working. Well, not legally anyways. After the kitchen she moved on to other areas of the house that required attention. The whole thing had taken about thirty minutes but had felt like forever.

By the time she was done she felt drained and no longer had the energy to eat. Instead she took a quick shower and got right into bed. She started watching a movie on Lifetime but didn't make it past the first ten minutes before dozing off. Not long after she was awakened when she felt the bed move. Cherie remained still but opened her eyes to find Ray sitting on his side of the bed removing his shoes. He continued to undress until he was left with nothing but his boxers before climbing into bed. She hated when he didn't wash off the day's dirt before climbing up under her covers. She made a mental note to wash them the next day.

" Baby, are you awake" Ray whispered but didn't get a response.

Cherie was laying with her back facing him. To the naked eye she appeared to have been sleeping peacefully but she was very much awake. She just didn't feel like arguing tonight. It seemed like that was all they did lately and she was sick of it. Besides, she didn't have the energy to go there so she pretended to be asleep. On the other hand Ray was starting to feel the effects from the beers and two shots of American Honey that he and his friend had partaken in earlier. He was horny as fuck and wanted to try his luck, hoping that he could get him some before the night ended. He slid closer to her until his print pressed up against her ass. He waited for a few seconds to see if she would push him off. When she didn't, he took that as a sign to continue.
