A few hours after the incident, all the Runner – including Newt – Ably and I gather in the Map Room.
"So, care to share us in, shank?" Minho asks.
"Well, when I was out int the Maze I heard voices." Newt begins.
A few of the Runners laugh.
"Shut it." Alby orders. "Continue Newt."
"First to was just like Marcus's voice."
"Wait, what?" I ask confused.
"Yeah." Newt turns directly to me. "The exact vocals and everything."
"What did the voice say?" asks Minho.
"Just my name. it was so much like Marcus's, I thought it was him. but when the voice came around corner it was a snake. Or latest that what it looked like."
"A snake?" Alby asks confused.
"Yes." I turn to the Head of Command and notice there's something going through his mind.
"Wait. But there hasn't been a snake in Glade for months." I add.
The other Runners nod in agreement.
"So, why would one be out in the Maze?" Asks Minho. "Newt, I want you to draw what it looked like. Colours and everything."
"Okay." Newt walks over to one of the tables and grabs a piece of aper and pencils.
"Uh, Newt?" I ask.
"Yeah."
"What did you mean when you said the first voice was mine?"
"Right, there were others. Basically the voice of every Glader. Plus a few others."
"Others?" Minho starts towards Newt.
"Yeah. They were our age. Son not the Creators. But not one I heard before." Newt looks at Minho as he explains.
"Okay." Minho turns and walks over to Alby. "You and I need to talk. The rest of you continue Mapping. And Marcus go check on Greenie."
Minho and Alby leave together. And the Runners mill around the Map Room gathering what they need. Newt goes back to drawing the 'snake' and I decide to leave and check on the Greenie like Minho said.
