Everything's so ...empty. My past is numb; new knowledge fills the gap. Such emptiness. A gaping hole in my life. I don't remember anything. Parts of my are angry. Parts of me are scared. I'm a walking shell. Hollow. Empty.

"Oi! Greenie!" a rough voice call and snaps me back to the present. "Watch where you're walking! And where the hell is Marcus?"

Suddenly, I am aware of where I stand. Right int the middle of the Builders workplace. And Marcus, who is supposed to flank my side is gone.

"Sorry, Gally!" Marcus run's over and grab's my arm. "Come on Greenbean."

As Marcus pulls me away from the worksite, I notice a look that's part embarrassment and worry on his face.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"Don't worry about it, Greenbean. I just need your help with harvesting the last of the crop, please."

"Sure. What would you like me to do?'

Marcus and I work on harvesting the remaining produce right until sundown. The we load it into boxes and creates that aren't unlike the ones I came up with.

"We've got to take these over to the kitchen and we can go join the others." Marcus picks one of the containers up then looks at me. "You know what. You go join the others. The bonfire's for you anyway."

"For me?" I echo.

"Every Greenie gets one."

"Um... Are you sure you don't want me to help?'

"Nah, I got it. Go enjoy yourself, Greenbean."

As Marcus turns to leave, I could have sworn he winked at me. Brushing the thought off, I begin my trek over to where the other Gladers have gathered.
