The only physical memory of what happened three months ago is that I have developed a limp. And then again only a handful of people actually know what really happened.
Now instead of going out into the Maze, I wander the Glade.
Occasionally, I pass by the Gardens and see Marcus working. But this time when I walk past, Marcus isn't there.
Instead, I see him walking towards the West Door.
"Marcus!" I call and begin to run.
Due to my limp, I'm not fast enough. Despite being a Runner three months ago, my ankle slows me down. Suddenly, Marcus turns a corner in the Maze and is gone.
