The second Marcus disappeared I ran for Ably.
"Why would he go into the Maze?" Alby asks me.
"Remember that snake that could mimic?"
"Yeah."
"It's back."
"What?"
I look him dead in the eyes. "Ably it sounded like me."
"So what? Marcus though it was you?"
"Probably. Listen we have to go find him."
Alby sighs. "Newt the doors close in half and hour. And Marcus knows the Maze is forbidden to non-Runners."
"So that's it? We're not gonna try?"
"I'm sorry, shank."
I look at Ably then turn away. When I get a few paces away the Leader calls.
"We can look tomorrow."
"Fine."
