A month passed since the reunion and it happened to be raining. Eda had invited her sister over simply so they could make up for as much lost time as possible. "And so, she signed the prenuptial agreement with her left hand, then claimed it wasn't her, and she wiped her ex-husband's bank account clean" Lilith explained. Eda chuckled. "Damn..bro will be in debt for the rest of his life, I'm sure" eda joked. "Yep," Lilith agreed, then thought of something to ask eda. "By the way, how did you know alador was being unfaithful to odalia? Or did you just make that up?" Lilith asked "Oh no he totally is cheating on her, I saw him at the grocery store," eda said. "What do you even do at a grocery store, you can't cook" Lilith pointed out. "Shut up, anyway, he came up to me for some reason and just started asking me random questions about the damn canned ravioli, and I saw a hickey on his neck," eda said. "That could very well of been odalia," Lilith said. "I know, that's what I thought too, but then he said he doesn't know what to cook since odalia has been out on a work trip for a week, hickeys don't last a whole damn week" eda explained. "Oh my... " Lilith gasped.
Eda nodded. "Tell me about it, although I'm not sure who his little fling is, but I bet you 40 bucks It's Darius" eda smirked. "I take you up on that" Lilith agreed. Soon they heard joyful cheering from outside. Lilith got up and looked out the window. Nakusa, Liam, and Cassandra were out in the rain setting off flares of a variety of colors. "Edalyn look," Lilith said, and eda got up, joining her sister. She smiled seeing them act like normal kids.
She looked a little further Into their files, she saw what kind of unkind childhoods and abuse they went through. "They're going to get sick," Lilith said with a small chuckle. "Getting sick is a part of the experience, I mean, how many times did we get sick playing in the rain?" Eda asked. Lilith scoffed. "You mean you and Raine, you two would dance for hours in the Rain," Lilith said, with a smirk, watching Eda's cheeks go red from the memories. "Oh come on.. You know I can't dance" eda scoffed, unsuccessfully hiding her smile. "You can with Raine, you know I never understood how that worked," Lilith said, as she really thought about it. "Shit... I still don't know how it worked..." Eda sighed, then looked down, feeling a twinge of regret.
Lilith noticed her sister's mood change and felt a little bad about bringing it up.
Eda looked at her sister, then smiled. "I'm glad we can be like this again," she said in a soft tone. Lilith smiled and nodded. "Me too..but seriously your kids are going to catch colds" Lilith joked. "Yeah, but hey their kids, it's part of a blissful childhood," eda said.
However, just a day later all 3 of the teenagers woke up sick. Cassandra and Liam acted like they were on the brink of death. The only difference is Liam yearned for death, while Cassandra cried while coughing up her lungs, and writing her will. Nakusa However refused to accept she was sick and kept crawling out of bed like the gremlin she was. Eda sighed, and truth be told she had no idea how to take care of sick people, let alone sick zombie children. "Edaaaa!" Cassandra called, eda leaned over her only to be handed a nasty piece of paper. "Here's my will," she said. Eda grabbed the tiny corner of the paper and left the room to throw it away.
She sighed, these kids needed to get better, and she didn't want to bother Lilith because eda knew how busy lawyers could get. "Think... Think... Who took care of me when I was sick?" Eda asked herself. Then she remembered. "Fuck.. " she cursed under her breath.
Meanwhile, Raine was at home, completely overthinking everything. They've been impatiently waiting for some type of communication from eda. She said she didn't hate them, so they thought maybe they still had a chance to win her heart back. That's when their phone started ringing, they picked it up, and their cheeks went red seeing it was finally eda and immediately answered the phone.
"Hi, eda!"
"Hey... Raine, uh, you seem excited to hear from me"
"Uh.. Yes? I was just thinking about you you have amazing timing"
"Oh, haha good to know, actually I need your help"
"Hm? With what?"
"Well... All my kids are sick and I feel like I'm around 3 little zombies.."
"Ah, of course I can help you, did you want me to come over?"
"If you don't mind, yes"
"Don't worry! Il be right there"
"Thanks, Raine.. "
Raine hung up and felt a huge sense of accomplishment. They really wanted to make things right with her, and even if they couldn't be a couple, they still wanted to be just as close to her. They grabbed some ingredients for soup and headed into their car.
Upon arrival, they were very nervous, because well now They were at her house, and they knew how she dressed when she was at home. And it wasn't very much...
When eda opened the door she was actually in a tank top and jeans.
Unfortunately...
She smiled, and let them in. "Hey Raine, you got her quick," she said, her tone sounded usual but they let that slide. Raine came in, then both adults saw nakusa dragging herself across the floor, trying to go outside. Eda sighed, rolling her eyes. "Nakusa, go back to bed," eda said, and started dragging her by the ankle. "Noooooo sickness will not take meee" Nakusa groaned. Raine was in fact amused but then realized they Couldn't find any medicine.
When eda came back they asked her about it. "Hey eda, where do you keep cough syrup?" They asked. "Oh I don't have any, why?" She asked, completely clueless. "Because... The medicine helps them feel better, what do you do when you're sick?" Rairn asked. "Just sweat it out, take a shower, change the sheets, and get back in bed" Eda explained. Raine started laughing, which made eda scoff. "Look are you going to help me or not?" Eda said. "Yeah yeah, lucky for you I did bring cough syrup" Raine bragged, then handed eda a blindfold. "Put this on, I need to make soup," they said with a slight smirk. "Oh, so that's how it's gonna be?" Eda asked playfully. "That's how it's gonna be," Raine told her.
Eda put on the blindfold, and then Raine peacefully started cooking. "You, are an awful person" eda teased. "And you, and quite literally a walking fire starter," Raine remarked. Eda scoffed. "I'm not that bad! Your dramatic" Eda replied. Raine chuckled in response and finished making the soup. "Eda, I do have a question," they said. "Shoot" eda replied. "What are you feeding these kids?" Raine asked. "Uhm.. Frozen meal dinners... " eda muttered. Raine chuckled. "You're just terrible" they teased, as eda grabbed some bowls.
Eda gave each teen, a bowl of soup and a dose of cough syrup, which got her death threats from nakusa and Liam. They did like the soup, and almost immediately fell asleep. As eda left their room, she saw Raine in the kitchen cleaning up, then started feeling guilty. If she kept this up, she could end up hurting them again, that's the very last thing she wanted to do. "Thanks for your help, Raine" eda said in a soft tone. Raine looked at her and smiled. "Anytime... It's good seeing you" they replied.
Suddenly edas refusal started to catch up to her. "Y-yeah" eda mumbled. "Hey are you okay?" Raine asked, noticing her sudden change in behavior. "Yeah... I'm fine, don't even worry" eda said, the same lies she told them so many years ago. They seemed a little disappointed, they wanted so desperately to have her in their arms again, but she still seemed distant. "Hey... I need to give, but feel free to calm me any time" they offered. "Yeah... Of course" eda sighed.
Once Raine left, eda practically passed out right on the floor.
This would definitely cause problems.
