Chasing Daylight

A day my pen loses it's ink
I pray not
A debilitating weight
like a mindless sea of empty thoughts
Waving violently against the rocks
First applying pressure then alleviating
Like a person on constant watch

Feeling found but then lost
Not the other way around
Tied by a perfect knot
Anchored and bound

A lights' flick-flicker
Without a manual trigger
Endlessly on loop
Like a death spiral marching to the beat
of inexorable demise
like a troupe
Ring around the Rosie
Making loop after loop

Longing for the after all
What comes after it all...?
Circling over and over
Chanting an endless mantra
Until we fall...
In an uncontrollable descent
Is a path we're meant

Every now and then the sun glistens through
Two rocks nearly molten together, like glue
A course revealed- it's showing you
Hurry, for it's only unconcealed
for a moment or two.
