Each time my eyes wander
My admiration is due
When I catch a glimpse
Of a purple hue
My eyes speak poetry
As I reminisce
When I think of you
Not red, nor blue
But a purple roux
Each leaf green turned crimson
At the sight of you
Purple leaves edged with white
If you look hard enough
You can see their light
Backed by that of tumbleweeds
Thorns and sticks torturesome
The stem encumbered by it's flower
The show girl of the hour
In a scenery of grays, blacks, & browns
You blossom in neglect
You have that affect
So each time my eyes wander
To that of a purple hue
I will be sure, each time
To think of you.
