"guess that means i'm buying lunch that day. i know all your secrets, you know all my deep dish, guess that means some things they never-," luke was singing, with juniper tapping a beat on the piano.

"wait, so..." reggie sighed as he looked at luke and juniper, all three of them were crowed around the piano, trying to turn julie's poem into a song. "when she says 'deep dish', is she talking about, like, pizza? or..." reggie was interrupted when alex poofed into the studio, sitting on top of the piano, looking less anxious. "oh hey man, where you been?"

"umm, kind of everywhere. yeah. no, i met a new ghost friend." alex said. and juniper smiled. she saw the smile on his face. this was a ghost friend.

"for real?" reggie asked, looking at alex wide eyed, making junie chuckle at him.

"yeah, he answered a ton on questions." alex said, the smile not leaving his face.

"yeah? like whether julie's gonna join the band or not?" luke said, moving his journal from underneath alex, a guitar pick in between his teeth.

"um... well, we didn't... we didn't really get to that, but i think i know why we're here." alex said, giving a weird look to luke before turning to reggie and junie. "okay, all ghosts have, like, unfinished business. so we need to do our unfinished business so that we can cross over."

"why would we do that?" luke said, looking up from his book and looking at alex. "i'm just saying, this is like our second chance. all we need to do is get julie to play with us."

"yeah, not only can that girl sing, she can write too" reggie said, and juniper nodded in agreement. "luke, junie and i made a killer melody to one of her lyrics." he said as he pointed to luke, who showed alex the melody he'd written in his journal.

"oh, without your drummer. cool." alex mumbled, and junie pointed at where luke had written in alex's part.

luke decided to mess with alex a little, "drumming is so '90's, okay? we're just gonna... stomp our feet now."

"okay, well, you know what else is so '90's? being rude, all right? get woke, these are sensitive times." alex sassed, pushing luke's journal into his chest. junie rose her eyebrows.

"look at you, learning modern day lingo," she spoke to him, and he smiled, leaning towards her and reggie.

"i learned that from my ghost friend." alex whispered, smiling.

"woke, that's a cool word. what does it mean?" reggie asked, and alex looked at them both- "no clue."

"you used it right, though, so well done." juniper said, flashing him a toothy grin and and thumbs up.
