chapter nineteen | edge of great ————————————————————————
the four ghosts were currently rehearsing in the studio, with juniper stood next to reggie.
after seeing willie, alex seemed to be a little bit tense, and the three ghosts kept looking over at him as he played the drums harder and harder. they eventually just stopped playing, with junie covering her ears as the drums were getting louder.
alex noticed that the other three had stopped, so he stopped playing himself and looked around at everyone.
"alex, you alright?" luke spoke, and alex looked up at him, his face neutral.
"yeah, yeah. why?"
"i know it's tough, man. people say you never forget your first ghost. maybe that's true. but... i'm sure there will be others," reggie said, and junie smiled at him, resting her arm on his arm.
alex looked over at him, a soft smile on his face. "yeah. thanks, reg."
"and alex, you're a great drummer, and a great guy, okay? i wouldn't let all that stuff get in between you and what you love." luke chimed in, and reggie smiled cheekily over at him.
"i don't know, man. sometimes a little fire can make things better on stage. like you and julie." reggie spoke, and junie wiggled here eyebrows with a teasing 'oooh', looking over at luke.
"uh, wha... what is that supposed to mean?" luke chuckled awkwardly, looking over at reggie and juniper.
junie looked over at alex, glad to see that his smile had returned to his face. he looked over at her when he noticed her staring, and she winked at him, making him chuckle.
"come on. everyone can see the way you look at her when you sing." reggie spoke, and juniper joined in on the teasing.
"yeah, you guys ooze chemistry," junie spoke, and reggie clicked his fingers over at her in agreement, winking at her.
"you should never say 'ooze' again, but yeah, i agree," alex said, standing up from behind his drums and joining in with the teasing.
"okay, no. i have chemistry with everybody i sing with." luke said, and reggie and junie just looked over at eachother and huffed out a laugh.
"seriously, watch. uh..." luke started, and then made eye contact with junie.
"i'm gonna stop you right there, pretty boy. we don't sing like that, and we're never gonna sing like that. got it?" junie said, her hand on luke's chest as he started to make his way over to her.
luke just cleared his throat, slightly afraid of her, and took a step back. 'uh... yeah. got it."
he then walked round juniper and went over to reggie, and started to sing to him, showing off his 'chemistry' that he has with everyone.
