chapter nine | ghost tinglies
—————————————————————————"we're playing a school dance? sweet!" reggie spoke as he, luke and juniper were stood leaning against the piano, facing julie who was watering the plants in the studio.
"it's not exactly the strip." luke mumbled, messing with his fingers.
"but it is a gig, is that not something we should be happy about?" juniper spoke, gently taking the flyer that reggie was holding out of his hands so that she could see it, their hands lingering longer than they should have.
"mmhmm," reggie said, pointing at juniper, before turning around to face luke, "and you're not exactly alive, so maybe you should be happy we have our first gig."
"i wasn't in love with the idea at first either, but, it could be a great way for us to build a following, right?" julie said, turning around to face the ghosts with a cute smile, making juniper smile back at her.
"yeah, yeah. we need to play wherever we can, whenever we can." reggie said, as juniper put the flyer down on the piano.
"no, you're right. let's rock those kids' faces off and then play the clubs." luke agreed, slowly coming around to the idea.
"and then record a single that gets a billion streams?" julie spoke, walking to the other side of the piano, now finished watering the plants.
"i don't know what that is, but hopefully it lands us a manager and a tour." luke spoke, and junie pointed over at him.
"and then we release a bunch of hit albums!" junie said, a smile adorning her features.
"put out a country album that does surprisingly well," reggie said, making everyone look over at him, "i shred on the banjo, so."
"then i'll learn how to fiddle." julie said, making him and julie 'fist bump'.
"and before you know it we're being inducted into the rock 'n' roll hall of fame!" luke said, putting his fists down on the piano.
"but one of us isn't there." reggie said, making juniper raise her eyebrows, a small smile on her face at his antics, "because we had a blowout in 2032. my money's on alex, he's just so sensitive."
"hey! there's nothing wrong with being sensitive, that's why he's my favourite." junie spoke, making the two boys look over at her- "hey!"
she just shrugged her shoulders and them with a smile on her face.
"so what are we waiting for, let's get rehearsing!" luke said, and julie looked over at the three ghosts.
"uh, where is alex?"
junie smiled, "he's with his ghost friend."
