"𝐋𝐘𝐍𝐄𝐘...?"The magician was quick to turn his head in surprise, instantly backing away from Y/N who was equally as shocked. Their body stiffened and a raging warmth spread across their cheeks.
"Freminet!" Panicked Lyney, flailing his arms about. He seemed utterly embarrassed.
Poor Freminet wasn't sure what to make of the current situation. He had just witnessed his older brother extremely close to somebody else. If he didn't arrive in that very moment, he dreaded to think of what would've happened.
Freminet, equally as embarrassed, reached up to scratch his freckled cheek with a nervous chuckle. Y/N looked down at the ground with warm cheeks.
"It's not... What it looks like!" Insisted the magician, sheer panic evident in his eyes. The visible blush on his cheeks had only seemed to worsen.
"Um..." Freminet closed his eyes and shook his head, almost as if he was desperately trying to erase the previous scene from his mind. "Where's Lynette?" He wondered in a low mumble, hoping to change the topic.
"I'm right here." A soft voice sliced through the tense atmosphere. Lynette had impeccable hearing, so she had appeared upon hearing her name. "I was hiding in a bush. Charlotte was lurking around here, so we decided it was best to keep hidden."
"Yes! That's exactly what happened before you appeared." Lyney nodded towards his brother with a smile. He still looked terribly embarrassed.
"I see..." The blonde muttered to himself before his brother raised another question.
"What brings you here anyways, Freminet? I thought that you would be diving."
Freminet's lips pursed into a thin line, his shoulders slouching.
"After Father's most recent orders? I doubt I'll get any time to dive." He sighed.
Lyney chuckled to himself, amused at his younger brother's comment. He reached out to ruffle his blonde locks, causing the other to squirm in an uncomfortable manner.
Lynette stepped in to help, as always, and forcefully grabbed her twin's wrist. Lyney winced at this and complained, Lynette merely rolling her eyes in response.
"Have you had much luck on your end?" Asked Freminet, running a swift hand through his hair. His pale eyes landed on Y/N for a brief moment, who had been awfully quiet during the whole ordeal.
"Yes, actually!" Lyney chimed with a quick snap of his fingers. His eyes had lit up almost instantly. "Monsieur Neuvillette has arranged for us to have a meeting with Miss Furina tomorrow evening. I'd call that luck!"
Freminet blinked, visibly surprised. "Oh...? That soon?"
"Shocking, isn't it?" Agreed the elder as he adjusted the top hat on his head. He did it with such ease, implying that he had done the action many times before.
"Should we report back to Father and relay our progress to her?" Suggested Lynette as she tilted her head to the side.
"I'd say so, yes," Lyney nodded, "Do you think she would be back at the Orphanage?"
"Father is at Café Lucerne," Explained Freminet, "I ran into her on the way to find all of you. She's expecting us."
The twins shared a quick glance with each other. Y/N was quick to notice the uncertain glimmer in their eyes.
