𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄

the abyss and 'it'

───── ☆ ─────

𝐘/𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 siblings were walking around Fontaine a day later, passing various different shops in their path. They had some time to kill before the meeting with Furina, so they decided to discuss their plans moving forward.

Lynette felt a gentle tug at her arm, causing her to stop in her tracks. She turned to her side to see that Freminet had wrapped his arms around hers. She silently rose a brow.

"Freminet?" She whispered to her brother so that only he could hear.

He said nothing at first, merely pointing towards a shop. Upon further inspection, Lynette then realised that Freminet was asking her to take him to a shop that sold various diving gear. She then offered him a small smile.

"Lyney," She called out quietly. Lyney turned around in response to hearing his name. "I'm going to take Freminet to that shop over there. We will meet you at Café Lucerne after?"

Nodding his head, Lyney smiled at his siblings before waving them off, watching as they walked over towards the shop.

Y/N and Lyney eventually found themselves in a field of rainbow roses not too far from the shops in Fontaine. The magician explained to Y/N how he used the roses in the majority of his performances.

"How do you think this meeting with Miss Furina will turn out?" Asked Y/N, watching as Lyney adjusted the top hat on his head. A small grin graced his face.

"Honestly? I'm not quite sure what to expect," He admitted, "However, any information given will be valuable."

Y/N remained silent and took in his words. He was correct, as per usual. Any information given by Furina was bound to be of some use.

Y/N turned around and was about to respond when they felt the warmth of Lyney's fingers gently caress over their ear. They jumped in surprise, looking at him with a bewildered expression. A teasing grin was evident on his face.

"What are you doing?" They wondered sharply.

Lyney placed a finger up to his chin and hummed, pretending to be deep in thought. Then, he cracked a smile followed by an amused chuckle.

"Surprise." He whispered beside Y/N's ear, leaning in closer. His presence was strong and known, yet somewhat comforting in a way.

Reaching up behind their ear, Y/N felt what seemed to be the stem of a flower graze their fingertips.

"I placed a rainbow rose behind your ear without you realising," Explained the magician in a hushed tone. He moved some hair away from Y/N's face as he quietly admired them, his attentive eyes caressing their features.

"I, personally, feel as if the rainbow rose accentuates your facial features even more," He went on to mutter, his gloved hand gliding down towards Y/N's chin where he tilted it upwards. "You look breathtaking."

Y/N wasn't too sure how to respond, a flood of emotions washing over them. One thing was for certain, however. They weren't able to ignore the warmth that spread through their chest, wavering down towards their stomach. Rather than butterflies, they felt like they had a whole zoo running wild.
