"𝐋𝐘𝐍𝐄𝐘, 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 really necessary...?"

"But of course!" Chimed the magician with a quick snap of his finger. "I can't have you peeking, now can I?"

I agreed to a date with you, not to be blindfolded. Thought Y/N with a quick huff.

Y/N tensed, feeling Lyney's light grasp on their shoulders. Eventually, they begun to relax under his gentle fingertips, knowing his touch was not one to be feared, yet to be welcomed.

"I promise it will be worth it." Lyney's voice, a tender whisper that caressed the top of Y/N's head, reached their ears with minimal effort.

"All I ask is that you trust me."

Fumbling around due to their restrictive view, Y/N's fingers eventually brushed against the magician's. A small smile lit up their face, causing Lyney's heart to swell with affection.

"I trust you," Breathed Y/N - not even a hint of hesitation seeping into their tone, "Always."

Lyney couldn't help but to chuckle in response, lifting Y/N's hand up to his lips. He pressed a feathery kiss to the soft skin of their hand, watching as a hue dusted itself across their cheeks. He reveled at the sight.

"Then, if you'll allow me..."

The male intertwined his fingers with Y/N's, lightly tugging them down the hall as they followed behind him aimlessly. He laughed, watching as they almost tripped over their own feet.

"Archons, you're rather clumsy!"

"Not. A. Word."

Lyney knew better than to try his luck. Instead, he opted to stay quiet for the remainder of the small trek. Upon reaching the end of the hall, his fingers carefully squeezed Y/N's hand, a signal for them to halt their footsteps. They did so, stopping directly behind the male.

"Father," Lyney bowed his head, a lean figure soon coming into view before the male and Y/N. Arlecchino rose an eyebrow as she peered down at the pair, her gaze nothing short of judgement.

"If I may ask..." She begun lowly, "Just what exactly is going on here?"

Lyney seemingly froze, his words caught in his throat. Not even Y/N could form a sentence; for they were utterly ashamed and embarrassed.

"I... It's a surprise," The quiet words finally escaped Lyney's lips, "For Y/N, hence the blindfold."

A knowing smirk curled itself onto Arlecchino's lips. Then, she hummed in thought.

"Very well, then. I suppose I shall let the pair of you be on your way."

Lyney and Y/N were silent, the sound of The Knave's heels scraping across the floor becoming more and more distant as the seconds passed, indicating that she had left the hall.
