𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 day of the ball had finally made an appearance, the 'couple' going all out for this particular night and this particular night only. Not only did they wish to make a good impression, yet they also had to look fashionable when forcing answers out of the Hydro Archon herself.Arlecchino had repeated the plan of action over and over to Y/N and the children. She made it clear that she was not here to play games, and that she was expecting a good performance tonight. Only the Archons knew what would be in store for the pair if they were to return to her without the desired information.
"You look wonderful, Y/N." Lynette complimented the other, who was sat down at a dresser. Lynette was currently in Y/N's allocated room, helping them prepare for the ball. Freminet was with Lyney.
"I feel as if I'm getting married." Sighed Y/N as Lynette gently combed through their hair, the sound of the bristles caressing their hair soothing.
"Perhaps one day." Teased Lynette as she placed the brush down. "Now, what jewellery is it that you want to wear again?"
Reaching over the dresser, Y/N picked out a pair of gemstone earrings along with a matching necklace. A few silver adorned rings came with the set, too.
Lynette eyed the jewellery closely, a nod of approval following shortly after as her ears ruffled slightly.
"Good choice," She hummed, clipping the necklace around Y/N's neck. The two admired how it looked. The jewellery really accentuated their features, highlighting their radiance.
"I fear my brother might have a heart attack when he sees you." Lynette went on to mutter, watching as Y/N placed the gemstone earrings in their ears. Their cheeks were quick to warm up.
"Don't... Don't say such nonsense." Was all they managed to huff. The other merely shrugged in dismissal.
"Lyney has a keen eye for beauty, you know. I'm almost certain that he won't be able to take his eyes off of you."
Lynette couldn't help her eyes wandering down, focusing on the multiple scars and wounds littered across Y/N's bare shoulders and arms. She tried to peek in a subtle manner, yet seemed to have forgotten that Y/N was, indeed, a spy.
For some reason though, they didn't feel threatened under Lynette's gaze. They didn't feel as if they had to hide themselves. They didn't feel as if they had to cover up their body entirely. They could tell from a mere glance that Lynette had no ill intentions, and that her eyes held curiosity over anything.
Y/N cleared their throat, their hands reaching to grab a pair of silk gloves that matched the colour of their outfit. The gloves were elbow length, ensuring that no scars or wounds would be visible. They lifted them up to show the other.
"I'll be wearing these." They reassured Lynette with a soft smile.
"Ah..." The grey haired female muttered, her gaze roaming over the silk gloves. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare."
Y/N was quick to shake their head, a relaxed expression now showing on their features.
"I understand that you're curious, there's no need to apologise."
