"𝐋𝐘𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄... 𝐈 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 know what to do."

Lynette gently held her brother in her arms, resting her chin against the top of his head. She cradled him slowly in a small attempt to comfort him in some way, his face hidden between his gloved hands.

"There isn't much we can do, brother," Assured the female, her voice barely above a whisper, "I know sitting here and waiting for Y/N to return doesn't seem like the wisest choice, but it's what they want for us to do."

"I know it is," Breathed Lyney, voice slightly strained, "But I can't just sit here whilst they retrieve Rúwen. I mean, what if..."

Lynette frowned slightly upon hearing her brother trail off in doubt. She nudged him lightly, encouraging for him to finish his set of mumbled words.

"What if...?"

"What if... Y/N doesn't return, Lynette? What if I never have the honour of seeing them again?"

"Lyney."

The male hummed, peering up at his sister. Her expression resembled that of a stern gaze — her eyes narrowed as they sliced into Lyney's softer ones. In all honesty, the magician felt slightly intimidated under his sister's firm facade. He thought that Lynette's expression was awfully similar to that of Father's, and it terrified him.

"I think you underestimate just how strong Y/N truly is. They've been through literal war and they've still made it out the other side. I trust they shall return unscathed."

A haggard sigh slipped from Lyney's lips as he carefully listened to his sister's words.

I've never underestimated their strength, Lynette. If anything, I find their sheer strength incredible and utterly admirable.

I'm very aware of how determined they are, physically and mentally. Yet... That doesn't automatically prevent me from worrying about them every second of every day.

I know more than anyone that Y/N is able to handle themselves, yet I'd prefer it if I had the power to keep them out of harm's reach — shielding them from the horrors of this world. I suppose I can only dream of obtaining such a thing.

I have no choice but to pray to the Archons above that they stay true to their word.

I need for them to return, just so I know that they are indeed safe and within my reach.

"... I hope what you say is the truth, Lynette."

Please, Y/N.

Please return to me.

"I'm not entirely sure what I should do, Neuvillette... They've obtained the gnosis from the Oratrice."
