TWO WEEKS LATER: MID/LATE SEPTEMBER, 2014

I feel Malik jump out of his sleep which caused me to wake up too.
"What the fuck is et?" he whispered, sitting up in the bed.
He grabbed his gun which was now kept by him at night.
After the whole thing with Bryan, and then when he beat up Tasha's brothers, he's been on high alert.
More so, his anxiety is through the roof, constantly. He told me he feels like he has a target on his back now.
The shit made me sad as fuck. I hated seeing him like this. "Baby, it jus sounded like wind or sum. Lay back down," I said pulling him back down into my chest.
He snuggled underneath me as he lay in my California king.
We've been at my place lately because he just doesn't feel so safe at his place anymore.
I can't lie if I said I did too. The whole Bryan thing kind of traumatized me. Seeing Malik get shot, seeing him that angry.
It scared me in more ways than one.
As I felt him melting back into sleep, we both jolted up hearing cries from one of my spare bedrooms that Malik converted into Malikai's temporary nursery.
"I'll get her," I yawned about to move, but he gently pushed me back down.
"No, baby. Go to sleep. You tied, n you been workin' all day. She's still my responsibility," he told me kissing my forehead and then getting out of bed.
I looked over getting chills when I saw his gun sitting on the nightstand next to his side.
I can't fight him on it though.
Usually, Malik always opens the door armed, but he always keeps it put up when I'm around because he knows it makes me uncomfortable, and that shit caused him to get shot.
So, I don't fight him on it no more.
About ten minutes later, he walked in with Malikai with a bottle in her hands, as he held her in one arm. "Baby, can you hold her for a second," he asked me and I nodded sitting up. She dropped her bottle when she saw me, sticking her arms out to me. I caught her bottle and her, giving her kisses on her cheek.
"Hey, my little baby," I cooed as I held her.
Malik smacked his lips. "Man, es some real like bullshit," he said low as he put his gun on safety, tucking it under the bed next time him.
"You a hatin' ass nigga," I chuckled as he got in the bed with me.
I then handed her back to him, and to both of our surprises, she didn't cry. "Wow, she startin' ta love me," Malik jokes making us both laugh as I snuggled into his waist, wrapping my arms around him as he held Malikai.
"Es only cuz you feedin' her," I teased.
"Fuck you, lemme have this one thing," he pouted, making me giggle.
