A FEW WEEKS LATER

I thought when I got outta prison, it would be easier and feel way better than when I was in.

I surely thought fuckin' wrong.

"Malik!" I heard my mom barge into my room. I wiped my eyes groaning. Bruh, she's so fuckin' aggy. "What I tell you 'bout bringin' bitches in my damn house!"

I looked over to the naked girl, who was no longer sleeping, giving me a stank look. I rubbed the back of my head giving her a small smile. "You gotta go, shawty,"

"You such a bum, Malik," she groaned under her breath, getting out of her bed, gathering her clothes, and exiting quickly past my mother.

"And you ugly asf! Only redeeming quality is how you suck dick!" I yelled back.

"Boy watch yo damn mouth!"

"What she started it," I groaned getting up hearing the front door slam shut. I tried to walk past my mom to go out, but she grabbed my arm yanking me back.

"Malik!" I internally groaned, stopping in my tracks to look at my complaining mother.

"Wassup?"

"Where the hell you think you goin'?" my mama snapped. I huffed in frustration. She be treatin' me like I'm a kid and not a almost twenty-six year old, grown ass, MAN!

It's been like that for the past month. I can't smoke in here, I can't drink in here, I can't have anyone over, I can't make noise past a certain time. Just bitchin' and complaining 'bout every little thing.

Lowkey feel like I'm in that mufucka(prison).

"I was goin' out, Ma," I sighed.

"Why ain't you found a job yet?"

Here she goes...

"Why I gotta take care of me, yo daughter, and yo grown ass!"

She knew how to make a nigga feel like shit, I'll tell you that much.

"I've been lookin'," I know that sounds like a lie, but it's the truth. My momma doesn't believe me because I like to still have fun, which I don't understand why a week after being incarcerated, it's an expectation that I have a job. I'm a convicted felon...

I've been on a few job interviews, and they all deny me. Why? Because I'm a fuckin' convicted criminal.

"Bullshit, Malik'," She smacked her lips.

I scoffed, "How is that bullshit? I've been applying' and goin' to interviews, you think I just wanna have no money?"

"You must if yo ass ain't got no job yet. How you goin' to all these interviews and still unemployed?" she snapped back. I could feel my body be engulfed in rage flames.

"Because Imma fuckin' CRIMINAL!" I yelled, "You know how embarrassing' it is still livin' witchu? Not havin' my own place or car. Not bein' able to provide for my fuckin' kid! You know how hard I've been tryna stay out the streets 'cuz I don't want to risk not seeing' y'all again," I looked at her, my eyes glossy, trying my best not to cry as I was pouring my heart out.
