Feeling the weight of our child growing within me, I marveled at the wonders of male pregnancies, a natural occurrence in our world.

As the due date approached, Lan WangJi, my loving husband, stood by my side, his unwavering support grounding me through every pang and twinge.

During those restless nights, I couldn't help but feel guilty as I shuffled to the bathroom, the IV pole clattering beside me.
Despite my attempts to be quiet, I inevitably woke Lan WangJi with each trip. But instead of annoyance, he greeted me with humor and concern, urging me to wake him for assistance to avoid any mishaps.
Saying some things like: "Man! Wake me up to help you get to the bathroom before you wind up falling and getting hurt!"

As labor intensified, the pain in my lower back became unbearable. Lan WangJi didn't hesitate to join me in the birthing tub, fully clothed, his hands working magic to soothe my aching muscles. His presence never wavered, his love and support a constant source of strength.

"I can't imagine going through this without you," I whispered, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes.
"You'll never have to," he replied, his voice steady and reassuring. "I'm here, Wei Ying. Always."

I couldn't help but reflect on the stories of other men who didn't show the same level of compassion after witnessing their partners endure childbirth. But with Lan WangJi, there was only tenderness and care, his devotion unwavering.

Throughout the birthing process, Lan WangJi was my anchor, holding my hand, rubbing my back, and anticipating my every need without complaint.

After our daughter was born, his support only grew, taking on the role of caregiver so I could rest and recover.

And as I battled with postpartum depression, Lan Zhan remained my rock, his patience and understanding guiding me through the darkest days.

In his embrace, I found solace and strength, grateful for a partner who loved me unconditionally, even in the face of the most challenging moments of our lives.

This is actually not original, but rather 'hypothetically' real, as I saw in the comments under a Facebook reel, these 3 different stories:

My husband slept on one of the little chair beda with no complaints with our last two. This last time, I felt super bad because I didn't have a catheter or pain meds. So i would get up every 20 min to pee, trying to get the IV pole with me as I hobbled over to the bathroom.
Tried to be quiet but I woke him up everytime. Meanwhile he was just going "Woman! Wake me up to help you get to the bathroom before you wind up falling and getting hurt!" 🤣 ❤️
My hubby was in the damn birthing tub fully clothed cause my lower back was killing me, so he climbed in to massage it. Never left my side. My heart hurts that any man could act any kind of negative way after watching his spouse go through childbirth.
My husband was by my side every step of the way. Held my hand, rubbed my back, got me my fan, and didn't complain once. After my daughter was born, he helped me with every single thing so I could rest. He's also been so patient with me through my PPD. 🩷
