it's hard to miss someone
that doesn't exist anymore
mom,
i want the old version of you
the one who would play with my hair as i fell asleep
the one who would take pictures of us all the time and post them
the one who would cook and bake with me
the one who would binge watch netflix with me
the one who would laugh with me
the one who would take care of me
the one who would love me
the one who would talk to me
the one who would take me to the beach for a picnic lunch
the one who would do anything to have me as your daughter
but now you're different
i don't recognize you anymore
and it really hurts me
i just want to feel your love again
