in the stillness of the evening, when the world's asleep
she lies awake, thoughts spiraling deep
stress tightens its hold like a chain
every breath a struggle, every heartbeat in vain
it starts only as a whisper, then speeds into a thunderstorm
fear and worry, a constant swarm
the pressure increases like a weight on a chest
every second a struggle, a relentless test
friends talk and laugh, but she feels alone
trapped in a cycle of fear, on her own
every step feels like walking on glass
and there's no pass
